A THANKSGIVING BLESSING BY RICK W. COTTON |
It's cold outside, but it's warm in my heart. And the gray fall sky is His work of art. Laden and low, quiet and still, November is welcome, and my eyes drink their fill
Of brown-gray grass and red-orange leaves, Of pavement winding through the strong, stately trees. Down the hill, past the barn, past the gate, up the lane, The house with bright candles in each window pane.
Now I step inside; oh, it's warm! Oh, that smell! Hot turkey roasting, potatoes done well! Sweet, spicy cider, and warm winter wine Cranberry sauce - Oh! - the flavors - divine!
The smiles and hugs are so warm and sweet. In this cold gray November, a Thanksgiving treat. I do love it all and am so thankful; yes, For this lovely season...I am truly blessed. |

CRAB'S ADAPTIVE BOATING CENTER |
From the CRAB November Newsletter... The Annapolis City Planning Commission Meeting on November 18th concluded at 11:15 pm with a unanimous vote in favor of the site plan for CRAB's Adaptive Boating Center (ABC). Hours of discussion during two public hearings, comments from the public, city staff, CRAB's engineer and legal counsel, and elected leaders on the design and usage of CRAB's ABC, were considered and debated before the commission voted to approve the plan and send it to city Planning & Zoning for grading and building permits. This is a huge milestone for CRAB and we were fortunate to have so many supporters of the project participate in the process. |
A special call-out to Alderman Rob Savidge and Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles for their emphatic support of the project and CRAB's mission. --------------------------------------------- A very important part of CRAB's mission is to provide new and different experiences and opportunities to our youth in our underserved communities. Also, in January 2020, I asked, and CRAB, without hesitation, readily agreed to "adopt" our Georgetown East Elementary School-- agreeing to support our students in their core courses and combining that with skills obtained on the water. Additionally, CRAB is a very integral and vital part of our Annapolis Police Department's Community Outreach initiatives for our youth. |
