A weekly edit, full of all singing and dancing makers, artists, interiors, food, fashion, gardening, music and more. Hello! I hope you are all well and getting acclimatised to new ways of living. In this week's newsletter, I am thrilled to include Konig Colours, Geoffrey Preston Ltd., info on outdoor cinema venues, where to find a car boot, a delish recipe from Great British Prawns, a new podcast series and having realised I'm not very clear on what I do, work wise, I thought a wee bio on me wouldn't go amiss. xx Georgie xx |

KONIG COLOURS A RANGE OF 101 ECO-FRIENDLY PAINTS Vanessa Konig is a dynamic blonde bombshell who knows a thing or two about interior design, illustrates beautifully AND creates a rainbow of eco-friendly paints. What a woman! Here's a little intro (taken from the Konig Colours website (folk who visited the Pop-Up of the North last September and ventured into The Curated Room, you might well have seen some of the paint samples there). Konig Colours offers a brilliant, diverse and beautiful paint range that is available both to decorators and the paint-loving, decorating-mad British public. And as well as introducing new colours each year, Konig Colours also offers a bespoke service developing paint colours for individual clients looking to match specific fabrics or create a new colour of their own. The eco-friendly and highly-engineered paint is 100% water based, with very low VOC's and virtually no odour. Sustainability is vital, so having a paint that has great coverage and is long lasting is important to us. This in turn reduces labour costs and materials use; all our paint is made in the UK too. The paint also has fantastic opacity and durability you will get a hard-wearing paint that goes on beautifully with the minimum no of coats required. konigcolours.co.uk |

GEOFFREY PRESTON LTD. A SMALL ARTIST LED COMPANY SPECIALISING IN FINE NEW DECORATIVE PLASTERWORK Geoffrey Preston is one of the UK’s leading architectural sculptors; creating spectacular works of art for architects, interior designers and private clients. 'Our projects range in scale from a single, beautifully modelled signature piece to complete rooms. With the exception of a small collection of limited edition pieces, our work is designed and made to order, especially for the client and the building it will belong to. We think that good plasterwork adds depth, texture and vitality to a room. It can transform a plain room into an interior of sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic beauty.' Geoffrey and his wife Jenny Lawrence run their workshop together, assisted by sculptor Kate Montagne and a small team of skilled freelancers. 'Mould-making is an incredible skill; without the team's talents, I wouldn't be able to realise half my concepts'. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND ENQUIRIES VISIT: geoffreypreston.co.uk |

CAR BOOTS One aspect of shopping I have been craving is a good car boot! Here is a link to help find your nearest one (check it is going ahead before turning up at sparrow fart, in anticipation of wares, bacon sarnies and cups of tea!). carbootjunction.com |

WIKIPEDIA EXTRACT: It has been said that Father Harry Clarke, a Catholic priest from Stockport, introduced the car boot sale to the UK as a charity fundraiser, after seeing a similar event or trunk fair in Canada, while on holiday there in the early 1970s. Despite the fact that no original source for this has been verified, the story continues to be told. There are now large numbers of regular car boot sales across the UK. |

This newsletter has given me huge pleasure throughout lockdown and a vehicle to spread the word about so many talented people, as well as sharing some of my own discoveries and other things that have caught my eye. With the easing of lockdown, I feel it is time to review the tempo and make this a monthly edit. Next week will be the last weekly edit, from then on it, will be a monthly affair. |
