SUmmer

is a state of mind.

Welcome to One in a Mulligan!
Friend, I've missed you.

A global pandemic sure can make time fly...

The days were slow, but the weeks and months went by so quickly.
I guess time works that way though. Especially on the days that seemed to never end,
there is never enough time.

I think a lot of it is the stress we all feel due to the weight of the world around us.

It's easy to feel bogged down in these times, so remember to give yourself grace.

There's been a lot of difficult choices that everyone has had to make during this time.

I have to admit that, when making decisions, none of it has felt right.

We're at a pivotal point in Flynn's life where Early Intervention services are ending and we've needed to decide what to do about school services, what our coming year is going to look like, and if it's realistic that he'll be successful in a public environment at this time.

Every single thing carries so much multi-faceted fear.

+

What have I enjoyed during this time?
I am grateful for the moments that I've gotten to be involved in that I otherwise would have missed.

In a scary and sad time, I hope that the children will remember the joy and not the fear.

Because that's who has been affected by this the most: our sweet kids.

I have missed you very much and I hope that you've missed me, too.

My recent post, "How Does She Do It?" discusses how I can possibly get things done, to people's surprise.

"'I don’t know how you do it.'

I get that a lot. It’s really a question disguised as a statement because it floats into conversation as if it expects an answer.

I’m often puzzled by this comment, as well, wondering what anyone else thrown into my position would do.
I was never given a choice on whether or not I’d like to fill this role."

Community Resources

Don't forget about: The Resource Hub!

I worked so hard on this page because I felt that it was so important for this community to find useful resources in one place - especially in times of dire need. I know when Flynn was in the NICU, I didn't have the energy to pour into hours of research when I was just hoping that my baby would survive.

A lot of the organizations I've discovered didn't enter the picture until we were all at home together.

With one page, all you have to do is click one link and see all you need.

Each section contains a printable PDF (that is also hyperlinked) so you can have it wherever you go - even without Internet. Just download and carry on.

Sources will be continually updated, so please send any suggestions you have - contact info is on the hub. These pages are always in the process of being updated!

Please pass along to those who could benefit, you could really help someone when they need it most.

Are You Obsessed?

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”

Good for the Whole Family:

Queer Eye
Friends, this is not news, I'm a day one fan of this Netflix series.

I have all of their books, children's and adult, and I'm such a huge fan.

I recommend this show now because the world needs it more than ever - the love, the compassion, the laughter, the fun, the purity.

Synopsis: Grab some tissues! An all-new "Fab Five" serve up hip tips, emotionally charged makeovers
and heartfelt reveals that bring out all the feels.

Just want to add that you should consider
washing your hands when there's not a global panic, also.

Every person in a child’s life – grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, cousins, and friends – is responsible for keeping him or her healthy.
Do your part: Get your flu shot, wash your hands, stay home if you’re sick, and be mindful when in proximity of a baby (especially those that were born prematurely) or immuno-compromised child.
