What you say to yourself matters.
What you say to yourself can either put you on a path of self-love or self-hate or somewhere in between. What you continuously tell yourself is what your mind will believe. When you take a moment to reflect on how you talk to yourself on a daily basis, this will guide you to how your mind is programmed.
You might have created a pattern of negative self-talk from years and years of creating negative thoughts. The first thing to do is recognize your thought pattern. Become aware that you are creating the reality you live in with the thoughts you create. The second thing to do is tell your brain to stop. Put a pause on the negative self-talk. And lastly, you can replace the thought with positive self-talk.
If your first thoughts were:
"I have never done that before”
“I can’t do something like that”
“I couldn’t possibly change my thought patterns”
Recognize these thoughts.
The questions you ask yourself also matter. When continuously asking yourself negative questions, your subconscious will continue to answer said questions.
Negative questions:
"Why can't I be more positive?"
"Why do I feel negative about myself?"
"Why can't I be successful?"
You can restructure all of these negative questions into empowering questions. The empowering questions you ask yourself will allow your brain to seek different answers and thus create different results in your life.
Empowering questions:
“Do these thoughts work for me?”
“How can I establish and maintain a routine where I practice positive self-talk?
“What do I need to do to eliminate all negative self-images I have created for myself?
"What changes do I need to make to feel better about myself?
The act of asking questions that are going to empower you will allow your mind to start thinking in a more positive way and provide the answers on how you can obtain a healthy routine of positive self-talk. This will allow your mind to have a map that leads to the future where you automatically create positive thoughts!
If you continuously practice this recognize, stop and replace method, you will notice that being more positive will just become installed in your mind. And you will start to notice yourself becoming a happier and more positive individual.
I am a firsthand example of this practice truly working. I love myself because I have practiced the art of positive self-talk.
What you say to yourself matters, so be kind to yourself.
