July 4th is back and maybe so are masks (hello delta variant), a proposal, and still free Britney.

Hello! With so much of the country opening up, it seems like the pressure is back on to have an amazing time this weekend and make up for the past year and half. How do we choose the best plan?! (And because of that, this newsletter is going out early before July 4 fireworks 🎇 )

Jury's still out on whether we need to put masks back on because of the COVID-19 variant — and I just don't want to talk about it.

No freedom from FOMO (fear of missing out)

I honestly can't remember what I did for July 4th, 2020 — NYC dispersed fireworks to avoid crowding. But this year, I want to have the best time to make up for lost time. Read more about the holiday NYC on my brief blog post here.

Courtney and Scott's love story

I had the pleasure of capturing my friends' love story as a surprise gift for their engagement. It was a hit! I made all the captions rhyme for the first time (hehe) which took it up a level. And, we framed it! I'm so happy for them! (If you want your own love story for yourself or as a gift, email me! I've done a few of these, see here).

I was shocked that Britney Spears wasn't released from her conservatorship this week. I turned my doodle for her into a video. I haven't done one like this before, it was a fun challenge!

DID updates

I'm plugging away at "Quarantine Chronicles," a collection of quarantine doodles. Plus, socializing again and reuniting with coworkers has given me some great inspiration for doodles that will go in the book. The fourth of July doodle idea came from a coworker. If socializing is this fruitful for ideas, I'm scared, I can barely keep up as it is!

More to come on the book soon, I'll be sharing along the way. And, you may have noticed, I'm starting to incorporate watercolor backgrounds into my digital doodles!
