"Nne Agwu Storytelling Retreat After Party"

Great uprising divine souls of the universe!

Ndeewunu - welcome's to our August edition of Shanti-Chi newsletter. Please read as much as possible as it has useful information.

What an amazing experience the Nne Agwu Storytelling 4 day Family Camp Retreat was from Friday 28th August to Tuesday 1st September 2020. We honoured our sister, mother, aunty, cousin, friend storyteller, artists, poet divine being Nne Dimela Yekwai. We called her name, we remembered her spirit, we shared her work and laughed as though she were amongst us tell us one of her stories. Her spirit flew around and above us. This year was truly magical.

Despite the rain, the wind and the cold during the first day and half where the ancestors tested us, to find out if we are serious about transformation, if we are ready to step out of our comfort zone or to see if we are just talk. Those that ran the course and chose to ride the wave were blessed with beautiful sunshine, blue skies, star filled nights, stories, around the fire and some deep deep healing. And the wild ponies on the hill that came into the middle of our meditation love circle was the topping on an already beautiful cake. "Boombastic, powerful, lyrical, musical, magical, mystical", just some of the words used to describe this majestic phenomenal adventure known as Nne Agwu Afrakan Storytelling village on the landscape of Britain.

I am Woman

I am ancient as time

As mystical as a dark summer's night

I am as seductive as the moon in all its glory

I am woman

Afrikan woman

It was from my womb that nations came

I was praised

Anointed and given names like Madonna and Venus

I gave birth to the first doctors

Astrologers, mathematicians

I gave birth to the writers of letters

I am woman

Afrikan woman

These hips gyrated to the rhythm of the drum

on the battles of the Nile

My beauty enchanted Pharaohs

Energised warriors

I walked out of the abyss with my man at my side

I am woman

Afrikan woman

With these breasts I suckled prophets

Prophets like Jesus, Mohammed Buddha

Because I knew myself then

I understood the sacred wisdom

I am teacher

I am comforter

I am creator

Because I was blessed as the first giver of human life by the Supreme Being

I am woman

Afrikan woman

With these hips i serenaded Shaka of the Zulu

My sons I blessed and sent to the four corners of the earth

Before Columbus knew his name

I am woman

Afrikan woman

These arms rocked and comforted philosophers

I gave Aesop the Ethiopian his first fables

Fables which were scattered around the world

Giving a moral order to generations

I am woman

Afrikan woman

Come worship at my shrine
