Like many other libraries across the United States, CCPL began forgiving fines when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
We have continued to be very lenient with fines ever since then.

We've joined the ranks of countless other libraries that are already fine free, or are in the process of making this transition.
In January of 2019, the American Library Association (ALA) adopted a resolution adding the following to the ALA Policy Manual:
“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴. Part of CCPL's vision is to enrich the community and to encourage the use of our facility. Going fine free helps us to accomplish this, by eliminating barriers to our library.
