Mental Health Month

To launch Mental Health Month 2021, Michi Marosszeky, the creator and co-founder of Woven Threads, together with Fred El Harris, the animator and motion graphics artist, will participate in a special screening and Q&A presented by the Bankstown Art Centre.

About this event

 

The first of October marks the start of Mental Health Month 2021. With the extended lockdowns and their effects particularly on communities such as Canterbury Bankstown in Sydney, it's more important than ever to do what we can to support the mental health of our communities. 

 

Woven Threads will be showcasing some of its uniquely animated mental health stories & after their screening, you'll hear from the producers about the process of creating an animated series and its impact on reducing mental health stigma and inspiring change.

Fadle EL Harris, is not only an award-winning animator, filmmaker and producer but also a landscape painter and talented photographer. Faddle co-produced on the Netflix and National Geographic series Tales by Light, in which renowned photographers travel the world to capture one-of-a-kind images.

Michi has been working in the film industry for 30 years. She has worked both in Australia and internationally on large budget feature films, television dramas as well as on commercials. She has shot several documentaries in locations as diverse as central NSW and the Middle East.
