Leadership in a Crisis Edition

 

Independent school leaders are mustering enormous reserves of patience and grace, and recruiting the technical expertise they need to help their school communities navigate the COVID crisis.  I've re-printed here "The Head as Pater/Mater Familias," a piece I wrote almost a year ago that describes the pastoral role that Heads play, important in the best of times, critical now.  The other pieces are new and specific to the COVID crisis including a most recent article, "So Last Week," on some of the early feedback I'm hearing from heads who are getting their first opportunities for reflection after two weeks of intensive planning for the days ahead.
