Salado Montessori End of the Week Update |
This week has been a wonderfully productive and focused one! After a lovely Spring Break, which we heard many stories of, our students came back ready to work on their favorite activities. We unveiled three new shelves this week to welcome Spring. These shelves make up our culture work and include Land and Water forms, nature, magnets, maps, globes, arch building work, and more. The students have especially enjoyed looking at our recently found bird's nest through a magnifying glass. If you find beautiful items while outside, please do take a closer look with your kiddos. They are all enjoying the incredible patterns found in nature. |

Volunteer Update! Our upcoming volunteer day, Saturday, April 7, 9 AM - noon will consist of installing a fence around our back porch. Right now each time a student needs to hang up a cloth, paint outside, practice their bird watching skills, or water a plant, they must request permission and assistance. Ideally, our students should be able to come and go through the back door throughout their morning work period. Please join us to make this happen! We have one person signed up officially, so let us know if you'll be there! Many hands make light work :-) Email Alissa@SaladoMontessori.com to sign up or to donate fence or garden building materials. Currently, we are considering this fencing material from Home Depot and will need about 100 ft of it: |

THANK YOU to everyone who has taken home work! We are just about caught up with our cutting and sewing needs. The only thing we lack is construction paper. If you happen to have any to donate, the kiddos could really use it. |
*Parents, if you choose to donate items, each $10 will count as 1 volunteer hour. |

Easter Egg Hunt This year Salado Montessori is co-hosting the Easter Egg Hunt with Salado Creek Living. In addition to the Hunt, The D Boys (business.facebook.com/TheDBoysRock) will be rockin' out for us, the Easter Bunny will be there to hug and snap a photo with, and we'll be making noodle/bead bracelets. Saturday, March 31, 11-12 Sherrill Park (by the low water crossing near Park Dr & S Ridge Rd) We need a little help during the event answering questions and passing out school brochures. If you can be there and sit at our table, please let us know! |
Reminder Next Friday, March 30, our school will be closed. Happy Easter! |

SPONSOR RECOGNITION The dream to build our school was born nearly two years ago, and early on there were a few incredibly supportive community members. Jackie and Denver Mills were some of those generous folks who provided the necessary seed money to get us going. Jackie and Denver have been part of the Salado community for decades and have together and separately made Salado a much better place to live. Tablerock Festival of Salado was their own brainchild and has been making Salado a destination for the arts for over 25 years. Please check out their list of incredible events for the 2018 year: tablerock.org/events.php And, enjoy! |
