Our Christmas Drive-Thru event on December 13th was a tremendous success! People lined up an hour early, and at last count, there were at least 220 cars! Over 300 bags of gifts were handed out by our wonderful elves. Each child received a goodie bag, freshly made warm mini donuts, and a mug with hot cocoa mix. Unfortunately, we ran out of bags, but we were able to get information to ensure that each child that came will receive a present! We'll be going on a shopping trip soon to fulfill this promise!
When the community comes together, great things happen! We always talk about the magic of Oracle, and this is the perfect example. We couldn't have made this happen if it wasn't for all the support we received! We would like to thank Dollar General for letting us kick off the toy drive with our Fill The Truck event! We collected 285 donations that day. We also want to express our appreciation to the Oracle Fire Department, CERTS, and FIREWISE for all of the assistance. Thanks to Jimmie Johnson and Peggy Burnett for getting Santa and Mrs. Claus in town. Thanks to Greg Romero for providing us with Christmas music. Thank you to the people who helped with traffic control, standing in the cold, to keep our roads safe. Thank you to OWN Oracle, Oracle Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation, Oracle Land and Home, AZ Youth Program, Triangle Y, United Steelworkers Union, Annie's Hair Salon, Family First, the Patio Cafe, Triangle L Ranch, Life Under The Oaks Lavender Farm, Judge Ellie Brown, Sue & Jerry's Trading Post, and OCC members who were instrumental in helping us get toys, bags, paper, and decorations together and delivered to community kids! To all the local residents who stopped us on the street and handed us donations- Thank you!
Thank you to all the parents and guardians for bringing the children to this event, and waiting patiently in line. It was a joy to hear children so excited to see Santa. We felt the love from the parents that had such loving words of appreciation toward us.
We hope that everyone who attended had a wonderful time. Merry Christmas to all! We are already looking forward to next year!
