A Fresh Modern Take on Preserves

Welcome to our Spring Newsletter!

The time came around quickly and Spring is here!

It sure has been and continues to be, the strangest period of time to have collectively shared with so many people. But nature shows us again how resilient it is in comparison to the human race.

We were expecting to see a return to business as usual by the end of June. Well we couldn’t have been more wrong, unfortunately. We’re still fighting this invisible culprit that changed our lives forever.

With the total lockdown of Melbourne and tighter restrictions in the rest of Victoria we are drifting more and more into difficulties. We are now also experiencing produce shortages and have to wait for the next season cherries and we are growing the much of the produce ourselves wherever possible.

New Releases

Our newsletters are normally an announcement of new things to come, but not this time.
Every 3 month (or every season) we release new exciting products and we love to do so.
We are so sad to disappoint our valued customers but this season there will be no new release. Why?

Under normal circumstances we trial our new products on markets so we can ask for feedback on how we are doing and if it hits the taste buds of our customers the right way. This then allows us to adjust and continue to refine.

At this given time we are only attending one regular market and as tastings are not allowed we are at a standstill for feedback.

Virtual Tastings

Here is a question for all: Can you do Virtual tastings?

Remember when everybody went to work in the morning and it took hours out of you day?

Now everyone sits in front of a screen and zooms or skypes and human contact is restricted. There was once talk of a smell-a-vision. Cooking shows would benefit from it, but what about virtual tastings? Yeah, we are getting carried away.

All we can do is explain as best as possible the taste experience of our products.

Our last new releases are still not sold so we have to make the decision to postpone new ones to a later date.

This will hopefully be in the next season, Summer.

There are some great ideas floating around for new products, as we never run out of amazing flavour combinations or new products.

Many businesses are suffering greatly from the current situation and we are one of them.

After doing reasonably well at first, the second lockdown bites hard and knuckles down on us again. Our stockists are the biggest supporters but reaching our private customers remains a challenge.

Discover our Stockists to see who is supporting us during these challenging times.

We guess that we don’t have to address shipping again. By now we know it still remains a challenge. The time it takes from lodging to arrival is getting longer and longer and food products don’t like that very much. We took our bottles off the online store again for shipping as the breakage increased and subsequently customer complaints. It doesn’t help anybody when we do the hard work to produce lovely syrups, cordial and sauces just to see them destroyed during transit.

Many of our fruit are only seasonal available and even processing them is a painstakingly slow and hard work. So for that reason only our local customers are benefiting from these in the moment.

But there is enough on our shelves to satisfy everyone. Just look in our Online Shop and see the entire range of carefully crafted jams, marmalades, sauces and condiments.

And just in time for Father's day we have a new Gift Idea.

Have a look.

Have you ever tried our Grapefruit Pineapple Jam?

...It is more a marmalade with the higher contents of Grapefruit.

But the slight tartness of the ruby red Grapefruit disappears with the sweetness of the pineapple pulp.

Think of pineapple flavoured sugar being added and with our cooking method all the goodness is preserved.

When we first tasted it we found it very lovely and reminded us of a sweet morning marmalade.

We would like to thank all of you for your continued support and patience during this time.

We are a small team, we are all working very hard to maintain the level of service that you rely on.

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Naturally Berry is sending you all our love this month and always.

Let’s hope we will finally come out the other end soon and life normalises a little bit again.

We do not want to spend Christmas in lock-down, that would be terrible.
With the weather becoming a bit more pleasant we can hopefully cope a little bit better.

.... and that concludes our Spring newsletter.

...it's never dull at Naturally Berry.
