PRESENTATION NIGHT

It is our intention this year to hold our normal presentation night as long as COVID situations and restrictions do not  change.

We are currently getting a venue organised then we can give you more information. Currently we are looking at 16th October so put this in your diary!!

Start thinking about who you might vote for in the Club Person of the year. Voting forms will be available at training soon. You can see the criteria here

And don't forget those Far Kup nominations !!

FROM THE COMMITTEE/RUMs

  • Thursday 3rd September is our next social night - chili is on the menu
  • Our Red Wine fundraiser is all done and dusted.  A great success and raised some lovely funds for our association.
  • For those over 18, there are new Blue Card rules coming out as of 1 September - please see item below for more details.
  • The new communication equipment is working well and our RUM is already seeing good results. If you want your own pieces of personal equipment, please see Kimberley.  Once she has enough people wanting gear she can place an order
  • Medical issues - For those with medical issues or ongoing injury issues, we would ask that you let the RUM and/or a committee member know.  Any information like this will be kept confidential, but we need for someone to be aware of your issues for health and safety reasons and in case any thing happens at training or while umpiring.
  • A reminder that if you do have a medical incident or get injured at training or while umpiring you are supposed to complete an incident form.  There are forms at the grounds, and we will stock up the supplies.  There are also forms at training.

UNIFORMS

If you still need uniform items, don't forget our uniform sale is still running - Game shirts, shorts, socks, training shirts and singlets all going cheap until supplies run out.  Still have quite a few sizes left.

See Pieta or Jamesie at training nights or email Pieta via the secretary's email.

BLUE CARD UPDATES

As of 1 September there will be some new rules and new systems in relation to Blue Cards:

  • New functionality available with an online portal for organisations to be able to see which card holders are associated with our organisation.
  • Applications will be able to be done online – paper forms will still be available but must have the latest form as of 1 September.  These will be available from the secretary after 1 September.
  • As of the end of this month, for new applications the rule is no card no work - for us this means no card no appointments
    • A letter advising of a positive notice is acceptable - this is a letter confirming you will receive a blue card.
    • The new rule includes linking of cards to organisations.  If you require a card for work purposes you need to be  linked to AFLQ or the same applies – no link no appointment.
    • If you applied for your original card via AFLTUA - you will need to link your card to AFLQ or the same rules applies - no link no appointment.

Members who have applied for cards via AFLQ would then need to link to AFLTUA as it is in our constitution but this step should not affect appointments as this is role of AFLQ (Kimberley).

If you have any further queries or are wanting further clarification or paper forms, please contact Pieta.
