It's Juneteenth and Collective 365 turns 4!
First, thank you Opal Lee for your tireless efforts to make Juneteenth a holiday. As many of us enjoy being off today, we invite you to be reflective and intentional about liberation and your role
.
This month we had the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling against the Fearless Fund. The Fearless Fund is founded and led by two dope Black women, Arian Simone and Ayana Parsons, who provide funding to Black business owners. Their work is based out of Atlanta, GA.
.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit ruled that the American Alliance for Equal Rights has standing to sue, that the Fearless grant program is likely to violate Section 1981, and that the Fearless Foundation grant program must remain halted under a preliminary injunction while the case proceeds in court. This has shaken many of us in the philanthropy space who are trying to disrupt and dismantle White supremacy. So what does that mean....
.
Basically a White man did not like the fact that funds were being given solely to women of color. The founders of Fearless Fund created their fund for similar reasons we created Collective 365 -- because Black and brown folks receive 1-2% of funding.
.
Ain't that something to see the 1866 Civil Rights Act used against Black folks...
.
While there are folks trying to take away our liberty, today we want to declare that we remain FEARLESS and will continue to reimagine philanthropy
.
We invite you to become a member

Thank you for joining and supporting Collective 365, but most importantly your support represents that Black and Brown folks can and should be trusted as thought leaders and decision makers!
