A NEW SCHOOL YEAR FOR THE EGGS! This month marks our third year for our newsletter! That means we will journey through Book 3, The Good Eggs in the Community. In this book, the Eggs come back from their travel abroad and remain in their community to learn the importance of serving others. |

I will be interviewing people in our own Detroit area community who serve others in the areas of children, elders, animals, food insecurity, health & wellness, and nature. Every other month will bring a new interview, beginning with October. |

For August, our Egging went out to the Bryson and Baker Batt Foundation. This compassionate organization is dedicated to supporting NICU families and also those who have lost their baby. They provide comfort, love and the feeling of not being alone through these times. They do this through care and welcome packages, memory boxes, and holiday support. We were able to contribute to their Sunshine Bags, which contain a variety of items such as stress relief lotion, snacks, journals, and much more for NICU babies and their parents. |

HOW ARE THE EGGS SERVING THIS MONTH? (Book 3, Chapter 1 - Part 1) September - Children Chapter one begins with Benedict meeting a young Egg at the library who is in line for free books. He was curious about him. Later, at school, Ms. Poach explained the Ambassador Program, where the Eggs will focus on a different service area every two months. They will also connect their service with the friends they met around the world last year, so they can implement service in their own countries. The first opportunity was with Operation Egg Equip, an organization that equips Eggs with school supplies and books. Benedict thought back on the young Egg he met at the library earlier. But who was he? Hmmm . . . |
