Today's subject is actually the title of the Sex and the City reboot — slated to return to HBO Max. I don't love it as a show title, but I do think it works nicely as a newsletter intro to my doodles. See: And just like that... - Sex and the City returns with a new name
- I quit my Whole 30 diet
- Armie Hammer goes from hottie to ... TOO naughty
- Vaccines are being distributed at unlikely places
- My friends are doing adult stuff like getting married and having babies! And I'm supplying them with custom doodles.
- The Danielle in Doodles to-do list grows
PS I got ahead of myself and posted some of these on social media this week, so bolded phrases indicate brand new, never-seen-before doodles |

Sex and the City: Where are they now |
After spin-off movies, rumors, feuds... and Kristen Davis bizarrely hosting this dating show, (MOST) of the ladies are coming back where they belong. I discovered Sex and the City when we had free HBO one summer in middle school. When my parents found out I was watching, they promptly disconnected it from my TV. Somehow I managed to catch up in adulthood, and I'll definitely be watching the reboot ... as long as someone can lend me their HBO Max login. While I await its return and an account to borrow, I imagine where the characters will be today (in a COVID-free world). (Also, I spotted Cynthia Nixon and her wife in SoHo a few years ago, doodle here about celeb run-ins.) Preview: Even though I keep seeing news that the show will not replace Samantha, I'm working on a doodle about my ideas for her replacement, anyway.. because.. there's still time for suggestions right? Look for it on social media this week and in next week's newsletter. |

Trying Whole 30 was a dramatic disaster |
It's January, so many people might be trying diets this month. I thought it was the right time to share this story. A year or two ago I tried Whole 30 and it lasted all of five days. I don't think they call it diet, more like an experiment where you eliminate basically anything but whole foods, then slowly re-add them to see what works for your body and what doesn't. I know some people have had success doing this. For me, eliminating food groups and experiments do not go well (ask my family, or see doodle above). |

Armie Hammer: Actor, father, self-proclaimed cannibal |
Ugh don't want to spend too much time on this, BUT, actor Armie Hammer (famous for leading in the movie Call me by your Name where he and his young lover mistreated a peach) was in the news this week. Women posted screenshots of messages they claim he sent revealing he has an interesting sexual appetite... It goes a little farther than BDSM. |

Mascots giving shots - vaccine distribution |
Isn't it magical that all these venues are pitching in to distribute vaccines? If empty stadiums and theme parks weren't a strange enough image in 2020, then filling them with health care workers is. I’m too young and nonessential to be on the vaccine list, so I have not gotten one and seen these setups in real life, but I used my imagination. Mascots giving shots? That was fun to draw. Also hoping this helps speed up a chaotic vaccine rollout. |

Congratulations Kelly and Brian! |
We must end this newsletter with something sweet and hopeful! My amazing, patient, and funny friend Kelly got married today. So here is the doodle I made for Kelly and her husband Brian to frame at their wedding reception. This represents their beautiful relationship ... and the home and garden they've built together. I treated their vegetable patch like a candy store when I visited last summer. (Also, another shoutout to Kelly who successfully completed Whole 30 a couple years ago). Congratulations to the happy couple. |

Danielle in Doodles updates |
Nothing big except that I sold another bar mitzvah card (see all birthday and Bar/Bat Mitzvah cards here) and will be spending tomorrow with a crash course on Etsy and the USPS. Also, my apartment is small, so finding space for everything is also a challenge. But I got organized this week and found ways to store everything! Well... I needed a set of drawers and my dad happened to have some, it's working out nicely. Supplies, cards, and shipping materials each have their own drawer. |

I'm considering creating a Danielle in Doodles email address, too. I'm going to create some Valentine's Day cards and maybe offer a custom option. And, I have my hands full with some other custom work for friends and a winner at a (virtual) holiday party I attended in December. Thanks for reading! |
