Above all else, I want to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in my blog. It means more than you know, and I hope you have enjoyed reading my content and found it to be uplifting or provoking. I always wanted to start a blog, and I figured with the political tension in the world now would be the perfect time. So far I have published a total of 19 pieces and touched upon a number of topics ranging from the absurdity behind wanting to defund the police to why I believe America is more than just another nation.
I have a lot of subject planned to write in the future, but like you I am an everyday working class individual. I am unsure as to the cadence I will publish these newsletters, but I hope to stay in touch as often as I can. With the impending Presidential election on the horizon I will remain intimately involved with the news cycle and continue to provide you with thoughtful pieces.
I once heard somebody call into a radio station and ask what they can do to make a difference in an election. The host advised if you can change just one persons mind to cross the isle then you have done more than you can imagine. I agree with that sentiment, but I know how hard it can be to change somebody's opinions. The best advice I can give you would be to try and listen and really understand the perspective the other person is coming from, don't be combative and try to guide them in a socratic manner as to how you arrived at your own beliefs. I have discovered in my own endeavors that people tend to not listen; it's a skill often overlooked that can provide you with immense ability no matter what you are doing.
Finally, I want to remind you that America is possible because of you. No matter who you are or what you do, every single one of you is an essential component of the American Experiment. Whether it be your day job or the love you provide at home or through volunteering, without you America would be missing a key component. In the face of negativity the media will continue to exert upon us remain positive, at our core we are an optimistic people.
I wish you all the best.
