Servicing the Families in the Light of Tradition

Pressing On by Mary A. Montes

Blessed Advent Season! It is almost two years since the founding date of Sanctum Ioseph Foundation. In the very beginning was a thought to secure a sizable land for the faithful community that can be used for many, especially during times of uncertainty. Then followed an effort to get that land. As we know, the Will of God is more perfect than our own.

I was telling someone about the dymamics of a pro-life family as it continues to grow. Adrian and I both held full-time jobs in the year that we entered into the sacrament of marriage. We both had experience with a family of five, but when our family grew to six, seven, and eight life took on a very different path. Fewer places became conducive to our way of life.

I found our family staying home more and only to go to places that provided room for our active and expanding family. Then, when the city parks and churches shut down, our large family was limited to even fewer places. Many other families and lay faithful began to wonder if there was somewhere to go for awhile as our places of support and comfort began to close before our eyes. We began to find the support and comfort within each others homes.

Sanctum Ioseph Foundation was founded to foster the community life outside the peripheries of a parish under the patornage of Holy Joseph. In order to accomplish this, the foundation seeks places to gather and reasons to gather within those places in light of Tradition. It takes a community to serve the community! And who better than to give the community under Holy Joseph’s care? Yes! Sanctum Ioseph seeks to provide a sizable sustainable land for the faithful. Yes! Sanctum Ioseph seeks to provide ongoing community events of prayer and camaraderie. Yes! Sanctum Ioseph seeks to aide the domestic church, “the little church”, in fulfilling its mission to live out the light of the Gospel. With a faithful community, Sanctum Ioseph can fullfill it’s mission.

Stay Connected

Stay connected with Adrian and Mary: Primarily, we like to stay connected to people in person. Tap us on the shoulder or schedule a time to catch up, join us in the ongoing S.I. events, or website network. Do you live far? We can find a place to meet half way. If you can offer any of your talents to Sanctum Ioseph, we will make time to meet with you. To the left is a picture of Adrian & Mary Montes - the founders of Sanctum Ioseph Foundation.

Stay connected with the community: There are a number of ways to stay connected with the community:

1. Join a S.I. event.

2. Join the website network to post or chat with anyone on the chat box.

3. Offer your time and talents to our endeavors.

3 phases of Developments

The 1st Phase: Is to continue giving the faithful opportunities to come together in prayer, meals, and camaraderie through the Collatios and other events. This picture was taken at an S.I. Mens’ Night where apx.30 men gathered for camaraderie and prayer.

The 2nd Phase: Is to find a local site for a Sanctum Ioseph home base for the committees, future community events, and ongoing usage for meeting others. This picture was taken at a home that held one of the four Collatio Nights for men and women.

The 3nd Phase: Is to acquire and develop a large retreat site to be open to community workshops, events, and private visits. Currently, S.I. is in the process of securing 115 acres land! In this picture, we are getting raw footage of the land, water, and trees. Read more about the updated developments of the land on our website network. These videos are coming soon!

Activities thus Far and in the Future

In 2022, we had four Collatios and two Men’s Nights. We had apx. 30-40 people at each one. The final Collatio was hosted on 7 acres for the entire family to come. Each Collatio begins with a prayer and meal. Then is followed by a talk, discussion and social. Some of the topics of discussion were on how to offer assistance as a layman as one dies, St. Joseph’s titles, one’s rule of life, and the Assumption of Our Lady.

In 2021 and 2022, we have had monthly meetings with board and committee members to assist in setting the foundation and seeing to the progress of SI. The meetings have been rewarding as we discuss and aim for new tasks.

In 2022 and currently: We are looking forward to solidifying 115 acres of raw and fertile land for Sanctum Ioseph and its community. In 2023, we plan on developing the raw land into a site for the larger community to use for prayer, recreation, events, and programs.

In 2023, we aim for topics on how to live out our roles in the domestic church, while we look into the book, Love is our Mission: The Family Fully Alive. It states that “The early Church Father St. Ireanaus famously said that “the glory of God is man fully alive.” In the like manner, the glory of men and women is their capacity to love as God loves. Life in a family is a summons to embody this love in everyday life.” Can we begin to reflect this mission within the center of our homes?

Keep SI going

If you feel called to assist us or be a part of our team, we would like to hear from you! Some of the roles needed are writers, website management, land development, and event management.

Consider titheing 1% to 10% per month to a lay organization. A monthly income of $5K/month is $50. This will assist us in covering the ongoing administrative costs and more! As of January 29, 2021, Sanctum Ioseph Foundation became an official 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible. Tax ID #86-2395035.

In gratiute, for the benefactors, contributors, committee members, and priests for making this possible.

“Ite ad Ioseph!”

Monthly Masses are being offered for our benefactors on every 1st Wednesday of the month. Consider adding your private intentions to this Mass.
