October Classes Are Now Open |
Believe it or not, we are already about to enter October, and we're opening our class registration for the next month! How it works: Head over to the website to reserve your spot in class. Visit the booking calendar and sign up for each Saturday you'd like to attend. We do offer private lessons and we are thrilled to announce the return of our extended Saturday private lesson hours twice this month, allowing for more archers to get one on one support from our coaches. As they do every month, these lessons will fill up fast. Make sure you sign up quickly to reserve your class! Group classes are limited to 8 archers, minimum age 10 years. |

New Class: How to Buy a Bow |
In response to the numerous requests we have had for help on this topic, we are holding a new class: How to Buy a Bow. The goal of this class is to help all of our archers who are interested in purchasing their own equipment. It can be daunting, but we'll get you going! |
This will be a one hour lesson all about selecting gear based on your goals, budget, and specific needs. While you won’t leave the class knowing the specific model of bow or equipment you may want, you will leave with all the knowledge you need to find gear that is right for you going forward. For any and all archers who want to buy their own equipment now or in the future, this class is for you! You can register on our website. Saturday October 23, 2:00 - 3:00pm at KBH, $30 per student. Class limit 8 students. If you'd prefer one-on-one help picking out all of your gear, or assistance tuning the gear you already have, private lessons are available for reservations throughout the month of October. Using the online booking calendar here, check which spaces are open and reserve your session. Feel free to reach out with any questions! |

Halloween JOAD/AAP Pin Shoot! |
For our archers who want the chance to compete locally, your moment has arrived! Our second JOAD/AAP Pin Shoot is coming your way on October 31st, Halloween Day! A Pin Shoot is a low pressure, in-school practice tournament where archers can earn pins and ribbons for shooting their personal best score. This is an excellent way for archers to grow their confidence to compete. Experience tournament practice during this 30 arrow FITA round. |
We encourage all NWTA archers who are able to shoot the full indoor distance to give it a try - you will see that we have a really supportive community that is always helping each other to reach the next level! This shoot will start at 9:30am, but may end up with two shooting times depending on the number of archers participating. We are limiting the shooting line to 10 archers for Covid safety. If we have more than 10 archers interested, we will open up a second line time at 11:00 am. This will be announced via email and each line time will be first come, first served though a digital sign up we will distribute on October 23. Pre-registration is required for participation, we cannot accommodate walk-ins due to limited space. Sign up for the pin shoot by Noon, October 23. Use the online booking calendar here and you'll find the pin shoot on Halloween Day. USA Archery JOAD/AAP members: Free Non-members: $15, not eligible for pins/ribbons |

Upcoming Archery Tournaments |
With the hunting season upon us and the weather turning for the colder, October is a relatively relaxed month in the tournament archery world. However, there is one local-ish tournament that archers could go to. One local pro shop, Archery World, is hosting an indoor tournament at their range in Lacey, WA called the Archery World Classic. There are cash payouts for the winners of each bracket. Please let us know if you plan to go so we can support you! Details about the tournament can be found here. |
So many great things have happened in the past month! We’d love to highlight just a few of our local community accomplishments and updates. Many archers have qualified for the next level of classes recently! Archers at the intermediate level have passed the test by shooting 6 arrows on target at the full distance of the indoor range. |

Several of our archers have invested in their own equipment in the past month! Congratulations to Elen (compound), Greg (compound), Yasmin (compound), Nelson (Olympic Recurve), Lucey (Genesis), and Brittany (Recurve). Each of these archers has shown a dedication and enthusiasm for archery that makes us us proud already! We're excited to see all the great adventures they have with their bows. We know there are a few archers who are in the process of getting their own equipment, and we can’t wait to give you a shoutout next month. :-) Another one of our talented and dedicated young archers is headed to college. Our very own Nelson is off to the University of Washington, and we wish him the best. Hope to see you on the range again soon, Nelson! We're already looking forward to next month's shout outs. NWTA archers are a hard working, awesome bunch. Thanks for making coaching so fun for us! |
