Key areas of responsibility:

 

- Assist with the day-to-day running of the café and staff management

- Set the service standard for the team and lead by example, with a hands on approach to work

- Ability to direct the team in day to day duties

- To ensure a consistently high standard and quality of service exists at all times

- To handle any complaints that may arise and to ensure they are handled correctly

- The ability to train new staff to the standard set by management

The role includes:

 

- Lead the team by demonstrating the highest standards of welcome, service and care when assisting customers at the counter and delivering orders to tables

- To manage and maintain the online menu / till, and ensure it matches the daily menu

- To maintain an efficient cleaning schedule; ensuring the regular and systematic cleaning and maintenance of equipment in the service area and throughout the café

- To monitor and deliver the HACCP programme while ensuring that food safety, food ppresentation, hygiene and quality standards are adhered to

- Stock Management

- Place product orders on a daily basis with agreed suppliers, in a cost effective way

- Updating and monitoring stock quantities via online till system

- To adhere to specifications, standards and procedures while at work.

- To provide ongoing staff training and motivation and to develop the skills of employees

- To assist with planning, development and implementation of an efficient work schedule for the café in order to ensure job rotation and flexibility of all staff while maximising productivity

- To undertake any practical duties which may arise in an emergency to ensure the smooth running of the café

- To organise & participate if and when required in special events within the café

 

Personal skills required for the job:

 

- Having a friendly and engaging personality, a good communicator, able to work under pressure, enjoys a social environment

- Loves working with our guests, able to initiate conversations, provide a sincere welcome and enjoy providing good service

- Interest in food and a passion for Irish produce

- An effective, well organised and efficient team player with a strong sense of discipline and urgency

- Knowledge of till operation and cash handling

- Excellent standards of personal presentation, smart appearance and articulate

- Food Hygiene training (HACCP required)

- Speciality Barista Trained

- Candidates must be flexible with working hours and available to work weekends

- Fluency of the English language, both written and spoken, is essential
