Stephen Hall

Stephen Hall, Contemporary Artists. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland,  moved to New York in 1978 and began exhibiting his work in the East Village in the early ‘80s. Stephen Hall has had a long and successful career since his arrival in New York, exhibiting in the USA, the UK, Mexico, and Japan. His work is in numerous prestigious private and corporate collections worldwide, such as the private collection of Andy Warhol, Diana Ross and Johnny Depp.

Stephen always loved painting and drawing. His paintings appear photorealistic albeit with a surreal twist. In his work he believes his responsibility as an artist is not only to document our times but to also express and highlight the important issues in our lives especially in his recent works. Given the fragility of our environment and the threats to individual freedom he never hesitates to express his concerns about gun control, global warming and environmental issues affecting our society in an artistic and humorous ways.
