takin’ it to the streets… or more accurately, the parking lots! Starters—in mid-September, your beautiful, thriving starts were shared with appreciative families and individuals at three outdoor food pantries: Salvation Army and McDowell Elementary School in East Petaluma and Elim Lutheran on the West side. We enjoyed lively conversations with people curious about the plants, pointed out they were all tended lovingly by YOU, their neighbors, and distributed growing instructions—in both English and Spanish—to help ensure productive results. We'll keep you posted about their progress! |

a picture is worth a thousand words While the focus of pantries is, of course, food, happily, an overwhelming majority of clients at each site eagerly took plants, excited to add to their pre-existing gardens or try their hands at fall and winter edible gardening. “Growers” were both young and old(er), let us know plants they’d love to grow next season when we return, and all expressed sincere gratitude to you for “getting them started!” |

and media coverage is nice, too! Word got out and we’re so proud to have been written up in the Press Democrat, featured in a *cover story* in the Petaluma Argus Courier, and interviewed on KSRO’s popular show, Garden Talk! Click the button below for links to these terrific stories! | | |
