BALSAMIC MOON

Hand-crafted natural-based self-care products for your Body, Home & Loved ones

THIS BULLETIN IS DEDICATED TO THE BEARDED FOLK

Balsamic Moon tries to cater for all us human folk, but sometimes we have to encourage the bearded folk to look after their beards. (this can be a challenge - beards can go a bit feral & cause chaos...)

Balsamic Moon has a basic Beard Care range but every time I go to a market I would always be asked if there was something for itchy beards. So, Balsamic Moon is proud to announce that it has expanded its Beard Oil range to meet the needs of the people.

It may be worth mentioning that Father's Day will be creeping around the bend - the first weekend of September - Balsamic Moons' Beard Range may just be the ticket. There's also something in there for the shaven folk...

SHAVING BUTTER

Balsamic Moons' Shaving Butter power lies in its ability to minimise ingrown hairs, give you a close shave & moisturise - all in one product. It's a different way to shave, but I think you'll love the results...

Use after bathing. After drying off, apply a small amount of Shaving Butter onto the skin - a little goes a long way.   Now let that razor glide over your skin (you will find that you will have to wipe your razor every few strokes).

HOMEMADE DUSTING SPRAY

The bane of my existence is dust. It is never-ending & I am guilty of letting it build up...until my Mum pops around & shames me out for it. I have just discovered this Dusting Spray, it's better than just a wet cloth - this stuff actually repels the dust for a short while - so you can enjoy your efforts for more than a day. And you can customize it with a scent!

MATERIALS

500ml Spray Bottle

1 - 3/4 cup distilled water

1/2 cup white vinegar or Witch Hazel*

* Vinegar helps break down dirt & deodorize - but if you hate the smell of vinegar that much you can Witch Hazel. Personally, once the spray is in use I can't smell the vinegar.

2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil

5 drops of dish soap

10-15 drops of your preferred essential oil ** (optional)

**I used:

6 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

(You can use anything really - as long as it doesn't damage your furniture)

INSTRUCTIONS

- Mix the distilled water and white vinegar or Witch Hazel in a spray bottle.

- Add the olive oil or vegetable oil to the mixture.

- If desired, add 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oil for fragrance and additional cleaning properties.

- Close the spray bottle and shake well to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

And away you go. This mix is non-toxic & depending on what essential oils you use it is pet-safe. Be careful when spraying around your house plants. Also great for window sills.

MOON PHASE

First Quarter

14th August 2024

The first quarter is the third phase of the moon This is when the moon appears half-lit as its illumination increases.

It's a time of action, decisions & commitment. Trust yourself & the decisions you are making. Move forward with your goals with determination & keep yourself physically moving for your well-being.

LUNAR GARDENING

During the First Quarter, the moonlight becomes stronger although the

gravitational pull becomes less.

  • August is the time to sow the following seeds inside - Tomatoes, Capsicum, Eggplants & Zucchini.

  • It's a good time to plant Strawberries while the weather is still crisp.

  • This is a good time to fertilise Onion & Garlic crops.

The first quarter is also a good time for planting trees, shrubs & other perennials, this helps to ensure that they will be strong and healthy. This is because the moon’s gravitational pull is at its weakest during the first quarter. The moon’s gravitational pull is said to help trees & other perennials establish deeper roots.
