Dear friends, As many of you know, I hail from the historic city of Thessaloniki Greece, a place steeped in the rich tapestry of legends and stories. Thessaloniki itself is named after Alexander the Great’s sister. In my family, names like Pericles (of Athens), Helen (of Troy) and Athena (goddess of wisdom) were names in my immediate family. We even had cousins and nephews named Paris (of Troy) and the Spartan Leonidas. Growing up in a city of legends, adorned with roman ruins and boasting a museum filled with Macedonian gold and archaeological treasures, I was surrounded by the wonders of the ancient world. However, it was not until I left Greece and settled in the USA that I truly appreciated the profound influence of my birthplace on my identity. When I embarked on the writing life, it felt only natural for me to explore the characters and stories that had shaped by upbringing and travels. It’s the magic of cultural osmosis, a connection to my roots that I could not ignore. |

The culmination of this journey is my debut novel, An Unexpected Ally, which is now available in bookstores. This book was born during the challenging months of the COVID-19 pandemic, a welcome undertaking during uncertain times. An Unexpected Ally is a fast-paced tale that transports you into the captivating world of ancient Greek myths. It starts with Odysseus’ departure from Circe’s island.
