Hello Friends! What a launch month it has been! I am so grateful 💞My launch day started off slowly; mostly, I was taking it all in–the posts, the texts, the phonecalls. At school, my colleagues threw me a fabulous launch party. Afterwards, friend and fellow debut author Hope Gibbs interviewed me on an Instagram live which you can still catch on my FB author account or on the Bookish Road Trip IG account. Following the day, I attended three live events which were absolute successes; I enjoyed seeing old friends and making some new connections too. Oh, one more thing! I promised to announce the third winner to my giveaway and that is Jeana Rayfield, who has already received her goodies. Thank you, Jeana, and to everyone for following along. |

Being on a podcast is something I never imagined. This month I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Elizabeth Lyons on her Write the Damn Book Already podcast. I immediately felt a connection to Elizabeth. She’s vivacious and funny and asks some damn good questions. I hope you’ll tune in… |

Not only did I not imagine being interviewed on a podcast, I certainly didn’t think I’d be hosting my own. Finding a partner whose company I enjoy was the easy part. And it’s absolutely fitting that the tagline for it is “two debut authors who learned the hard way” because developing, taping, and posting a podcast is no easy task. BUT we did it! Hope Gibbs, author of Where the Grass Grows Blue (which I highly recommend reading), & I released our debut episode on June 21st. We have another coming out on July 5th. You can listen on Spotify, Apple, Amazon and watch on YouTube. Remember to check out our website for show notes, free downloads and more. And follow us on Instagram. |

I am so very excited that my novel was featured in Kirkus Reviews magazine. I learned a little fun fact that only the top 30% of recommended novels are & mine was among them! Reviews are so important to a debut author. I would greatly appreciate it if you take a few minutes after reading my book to give it a review on Amazon. Just a short starred review works! |

It really does help authors. And you can copy and paste to Goodreads if you are a member. Thank you to those who have already reviewed and shared your recommendation to friends. |

To top off this whole amazing month, I had a launch party at Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, CT. I want to give a special shout out to Main Street cookies who recreated my cover and friendship bracelet; not only are they stunning to look at, they are equally yummy. I’d also like to thank Cheshire Baking Company who made cupcakes to deliciously capture the beach theme. Finally, I’d like to thank my son & chef Ryan Carbone who catered the event with savory appetizers. I may be a tad biased, but I’ve never eaten anything he’s made that I haven’t loved. Thank you to all who attended. What a special gathering with family friends–the perfect icing on the cake in celebration of my launch and one I will never forget. |

To say my heart is full of gratitude doesn’t aptly describe what I’m feeling. The ability to live out this dream of mine with the support of so many people is one of the most amazing and equally humbling experiences of my lifetime. Thank you for being part of this journey. Until next time… |
