(In addition to well timed calendar puns) This month's newsletter contains updates on awards for our Incline Run project, recognition of our Homesteading Program, the PHW sponsored PH Arts Connection group is awarded, and several ARCO updates including greatly anticipated music festival. |

Sending off our Spring Interns! Help us thank and congratulate Price Hill Will’s spring interns and soon-to-be college graduates, Mira, Rose, and Charniqa! Mira and Rose both graduate from the University of Cincinnati this semester. Mira worked on the Walk Warsaw project and several marketing materials for ARCO and Rose worked on graphics for our new ARCO social media accounts. Charniqa is graduating from Mount St. Joseph University this semester and has worked on Price Hill Will’s social media and our website for the last two semesters. |

Program Spotlight: PHAC Secures Two Grants! The Price Hill Arts Connection (PHAC) secured two grants to support the arts in Lower, East, and West Price Hill. The team received an Artswave Catalyzing Impact grant to support pop-up events, concerts, scavenger hunts, cooking demonstrations, and more! The team also received a Greater Cincinnati Foundation Summertime Kids grant to fund a youth photography project in East Price Hill in collaboration with Transformations CDC. The theme of the class will be “Learning about my community.” If interested in collaborating, in art, or in learning more about the group email chair Ann Andriacco for more information. The group meets virtually the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30PM. |

Homesteading Update The land contract for 1342 Manss Avenue was signed on April 30th making this the 13th home in the program. This house was built in 1878 and sits on a large, partially fenced lot. The family of six is excited to move into the home in early June. The scope of work for Price Hill Will included the installation of a new boiler, new water heater, additional electrical outlets, and 2 new closet spaces. |

Incline Run gains traction with Golden Paintbrush Award The Incline Run mural is already winning awards! Price Hill Will won the 2021 Love Thy ‘Nati Golden Paintbrush award from Keep Cincinnati Beautiful for the mural concept and the community-involved process of working together to transform a blighted space into one that is appreciated, safe, and utilized. |

Dress for A Cause The Mt. Echo Park Advisory Council launched their first fundraising campaign in partnership with Cincy Shirts earlier this month. Belong, Be Strong Presents Plan to WPHCC The Belong, Be Strong: West Price Hill Plan Steering Committee provided a status update to the West Price Hill Community Council during the April 13, 2021 meeting. During this presentation, each of the five Plan Theme Working Groups (Business Development/Engagement; Transportation Infrastructure; Community Engagement; Marketing; Crime + Safety) provided an overview of the identified vision statements and goals that have resulted from the first two Working Group meetings. A copy of the presentation can be viewed by visiting HERE. The Steering Committee will be scheduling a third Working Group meeting in the following weeks, so be on the lookout for more information on date/time/location! All are welcome and encouraged to attend the Working Group meetings and join in the process. If you are interested in attending these meetings, or learning more, please contact Andy Juengling with the City of Cincinnati’s Department of City Planning at andy.juengling@cincinnati-oh.gov. PHCCF comes to ARCO We are excited to announce the 6th annual Price Hill Creative Community Festival is coming to ARCO this year! Normally held at the Warsaw Avenue Creative Campus, this two-day festival brings together artists from across the US to Price Hill to perform alongside local talent and the MYCincinnati students. PHCCF Applications Still Open The PHCCF Artist-In-Residency program has extended its deadline for artist submissions. Apply for this 2-week intensive residency with the students of MYCincinnati to co-create a brand new project that will premiere at the 2021 #PHCCF July 23-24 at Price Hill Will's ARCO event venue. Price Hillharmonic Returns The Price Hillharmonic will start back up with in-person rehearsals in May! We can't wait to see everyone again, and make music together. Our final performance for the spring/summer season will be at the Price Hill Creative Community Festival and ARCO Grand Opening celebration in July. Stay tuned for details! |

Moving into May Spring has sprung and that means it is time to MOVE with the Let’s Get Physical (LGP) team. Starting Sunday May 2nd, the team will offer in-person, socially-distanced, outdoor classes at Mt. Echo, Wilson Commons, Rapid Run and Olden View Parks. These classes are made possible with the support of the Cincinnati Parks Foundation. Through this collaboration and grant, the LGP team is testing out a sampler series of classes titled Passport to Healthy Living. Some of the offerings will be Zumba, Hooping, family fitness, Tai Chi and more! And finally, there is a Saturday walking group, If interested in participating in a class, please fill out this waiver prior to attending the class. Last, but certainly not least, the LGP is undergoing a name change and updating their mission and goals. Be on the lookout for a new logo and name soon! |
