📣🌟 Embracing My Latine Heritage: Let's Share & Connect!
 
As I navigate life's journey, I still feel the profound loss of my furry companion, John, who spent fourteen beautiful years by my side. 🐾 
 
But amid the grief, I've decided to be intentional and authentic in sharing what being Latine means to me.
 
Being Latine in the U.S. often means making concessions on our identity, sometimes willingly and, at other times, unknowingly. 🤷‍♀️ It's a complex tapestry that seeps into my writing, making it a part of who I am as an author. This month, I want to open up about this side of me, letting you into my world and the struggles and triumphs it entails.
But that's not all. I'm also on a mission to spotlight incredible works by Latine authors. 
 
📚✨ While the publishing industry is slowly evolving towards inclusivity, it's not happening fast enough for my liking. So, I'm spotlighting Latine authors whose brilliance sometimes goes unnoticed due to undermarketing.
 
Highlighting diverse authors is my mission, my passion, and my purpose. 🌍💪
 
Speaking of purpose, I've transformed "Have a Cup of Johanny" into an LLC with a bigger dream in mind – turning it into a publishing house that champions underrepresented voices. I can sometimes be impatient, as you've seen in one of my TikTok videos. I DON'T JUST SIT BACK AND LAMENT when I feel there's no seat at the 'table'. No, I roll up my sleeves, become a carpenter, craft my own table and chair, and warmly invite others to join me.

It's still a bittersweet feeling when I think about the fur baby who stole my heart, our dear John. He graced this world for fifteen wonderful years; for fourteen of those, he was my steadfast companion. 💕
 
You might remember John's incredible journey, which I've chronicled in "Mrs. Franchy's Evil Ring." In this captivating tale, he's not just any character; he's the only non-fictional one. 📖🐶
 
 I brought him into the story to be Isla's trusted companion, a source of comfort during her retraumatizing ordeal. Little did I know, I also immortalized John, affectionately known as Sausage.
 
I made that conscious decision two years ago, and I'm so grateful I did. Now, every reader can share in the joy of knowing John and falling head over paw for his endearing, goofy personality, just as I did. 💫🐕
 
The truth is, I'll always carry a piece of John in my heart, and the ache of missing him won't fade easily. But I hope, with time, my grief will become a bit lighter, a bit easier to bear.
 
Looking ahead, I have an exciting idea brewing in my writer's mind. Picture this: a book where the star characters are none other than Wicked (the house) and John! 🏡🐾 Readers will get a unique perspective as they witness Isla's entrance into their enchanting realm. I anticipate a blend of humor and intrigue, all wrapped up in another captivating middle-grade chapter book with a touch of magic. 🪄📚
