Dear Second Presbyterian Church Community,
It is with great sadness that the session has decided to immediately cancel public worship services, through and including Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020.
We are asked to practice social distancing, not isolation; therefore, we encourage you to participate in worship remotely at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw via livestream at the website noted below. In the coming weeks, Second Presbyterian Church will have a leadership presence in the worship with First Presbyterian Church. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgjuTkQqsJA45miDISPKs6w
In addition, all non-worship activities, including, but not limited to, Session and committee meetings, all music rehearsals, and Lenten studies, have been cancelled until further notice.
The Fish Fry is rescheduled to April 17, 2020.
At this time, the church office and staff will maintain as regular a schedule as possible. We ask, however, that you limit your interaction, when necessary, to phone calls and emails.
Please stay up to date by subscribing to these emails and watching our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/spcsaginaw. If you know of a church friend without internet access, please share the information with them.
Our friend, Rev. Ted McCulloch of First Presbyterian Church, (who also serves as the Moderator of our Session) states: “Most importantly, keep the faith. Prayers for healthcare providers, responders, and workers are greatly needed. Prayers for emergency responders, grocery store workers and suppliers, fire and police workers will be needed during this time. Prayers for wisdom for political leaders, service leaders, and government agencies matter as well. Prayers for each of us. Keep yourself informed about the best ways to resist infection and take care of yourself and those you love. While we may be asked to keep our physical distance, that does not mean keeping spiritual distance from one another or from God. We can always talk and pray with each other.
The church and our faith have come through worse than this and we will do so again.”
Faithfully,
The Session
