Patrick Dunne on Boards


We speak with Patrick Dunne about the recent history of boards and the development that has taken place over the last two decades. We examine the sustainability component of modern corporate governance and Patrick shares some interesting but also concerning facts about the social standing of boards. He further introduces the second edition of his award-winning book ‘Boards’ and talks through his educational projects, and people he looks up to.

About Patrick Dunne

Patrick Dunne is an experienced chair, serial social entrepreneur, boards adviser and author of the award-winning book "Boards". Patrick’s executive career began in the chemicals industry and private equity where he was on the operating committee of FTSE100 company 3i Group plc.


These days Patrick owns and runs Boardelta, a firm that advises boards around the world. He currently is the chair of the EY Foundation and ESSA-Education Sub Saharan Africa. Patrick also serves on the Board of CMI- Chartered Management Institute and is a patron of ‘Leap’ a charity organisation confronting conflict. He is the founder of Warwick in Africa.
