Dear friends,
A month has passed since our Celebrating Women! CD presentation concert on 30 October in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague and what an amazing afternoon it was! So many people came to listen and support us. We loved how warm and enthusiastic the audience was, the great atmosphere and, of course, Lex Bohlmeijer’s inspired presenting!
That same evening, after selling lots of CDs and chatting with many dear friends, we walked across town to the Korzo Theater to open the first concert of the (Un)Heard Music Festival of the Matangi Quartet with some unfinished works by Schubert & Mozart. Definitely a day to remember!
Since then we’ve been overwhelmed by the wonderful reviews that have been coming in and we'd like to share them with you. You can find a few selected quotes and links to the complete reviews at the bottom of this newsletter.
Celebrating Women! has also been showcased a few times on the radio. First, in the week running up to the CD presentation concert, Lex Bohlmeijer chose the CD as his Hollandse Nieuwe CD of the week for his radio programme Passaggio, broadcast every weekday evening from 19:00-20:00 on NPO Radio 4. Half way through the programme Lex plays tracks from his chosen CD mixed with interviews with the musicians, in our case Justyna & Miriam, where we talked about the project and the four female composers, each of whom get their evening in the spotlight. You can find all the fragments via this link:

On 31 October, Aad van Nieuwkerk played the Suite by Emmy Frensel Wegener on his evening programme Vrije Geluiden:

On 7 November, Thea Derks also chose the Wegener for her radio programme Een Os op het Dak on the Concertzender radio station:

A couple of weeks later, on Sunday, 21 November, we were invited to promote Celebrating Women! on the radio programme Spiegelzaal broadcast live from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on NPO Radio 4, presented by Hans van den Boom. You can listen back to us in the first quarter of an hour of the broadcast, starting after the 4th minute:

Finally, we would like to let you know about our last concert of the year which, despite the latest restrictions, can go ahead! Together with pianist Ksenia Kouzmenko, we will perform our programme Czech Romance with music by Dvořák, Novák and Suk on Saturday, 11 December at 3:00 pm in 't Mosterdzaadje in Santpoort-Noord.
