The Beyond the Horizon Newsletter: 27th of June 2022

Welcome to the FIRST Beyond the Horizon Newsletter!

Hello everyone and welcome to the inaugural Beyond the Horizon newsletter, and hopefully the first of many. We'll be sending these out every other week to avoid spamming you all, but we hope to introduce something new to your every time.

Now I know you're all waiting for the codes for all the freebies (and you can find the link to it at the bottom of the email), especially as this was supposed to have been sent out on the 25th of July. Unfortunately, an issue on DriveThruRPG prevented the link from working, but that's sorted now.

I do hope you'll take a few minutes to read this newsletter though, mostly because I'll explain why you should remain subscribed. You see, this won't be our only freebie round. In fact, we're planning on giving away freebies (usually adventures) every 3 months, for both 5e and Pathfinder 2. And yes, they will be FREE for everyone subscribed - like here, all you have to do is redeem it via the links we'll provide. If you're not subscribed, you'll be able to buy them separately, but... Why would not want free stuff?

So in three months' time, we'll be publishing a new adventure. And it looks like the one that'll be coming out in September is:

TRIALS OF THE ESOTERIC ORDER!

A group of wizards has formed the Esoteric Order which is a magical research facility in which all facets of magic are explored. The order hires adventurers to conduct missions to retrieve various rare components and artifacts from particularly dangerous locales. Before being hired, every adventurer (or adventuring party) must prove themselves. The order is not interested in wasting its time on incompetents.

To prove themselves, the heroes are put through a series of challenges. The challenge house contains rooms with various tests that evaluate the adventurers’ ability to solve puzzles, avoid traps, master difficult terrain, and defeat adversaries. Each room has an invisible magical sensor that allows the order to keep track of the party's progress. Now, you must complete the challenge in a fixed amount of time: If successful, you'll be rewarded and offered an even higher-paying job.

Featured Product

We have a section in each newsletter called the Featured Product. It comes with a 20% discount for anyone using the link to it. :)
This time around, we're looking at:

ARCHETYPES OF THE AGES: DRAGONS (5e)

The Archetypes of the Ages: Dragons book contains a number of options for your characters, inspired by Dragons, such as the Wyrm domain for those who worship at the altar of the dragon gods or the Treasure Hunter ranger who is looking to make a big score, and steal a dragon's hoard.

Give it a look, we think you'll like it.

Projects in the Pipeline

(or PIP for short. :P )

Untamed Lands - Lost Worlds, Dinosaurs, and Pre-historic Campaigns (5e and Pathfinder 2)

It's very early days for this one, but if you look at our Black Powder Rebellion book (that's included in the free bundle that you're about to receive) then you'll have an idea of what we're going for. More dinosaurs, inspiration for playing in a "Lost Worlds" style campaign, or even one set in the Stone Age. There might even be a bit of Tarzan inspiration here. :)
It'll be for both 5e and Pathfinder 2. :)

Blogs

Normally we'll feature one of our blog posts here, but since this is the first newsletter, we just think you should take a look at the blog in general. It's updated once per week (normally on Mondays), and you can find them all HERE.

Our Friends

The Our Friends Section is where we show you something cool that is NOT created by us here at Beyond the Horizon but created by one of our friends within the community or publishing world. Each newsletter will feature a different creator and we will hopefully be able to show you something cool and new each time. :)

The Chalk God (5e)

Menagerie Press

An adventure for three to six characters of levels 3-4, The Chalk God has the heroes explore a cliffside cave that was once home to a cult of Mother Clay, an earth-deity. Unfortunately, while the cave is filled with interesting knickknacks and treasures, it is not without a guardian. For while the cult may be gone, their protector remains.

Black Hart (5e)

Tacitus Publishing

In Black Hart, a dark fae, that takes the form of a Black Stag has returned. It is an ill-omen and the heroes have to take out this dangerous creature before it can cause anything bad to befall the farmers living near Foxhollow Wood.

And of course, what you've all been waiting for, the FREE STUFF.

Follow this link and go and redeem it on DriveThruRPG.

Please note that this IS time-limited. You have until the 25th of July to redeem it.

See you in a couple of weeks. :)
