A Note from the Camp Directors:

2021 Summer Camp Preview

Summer Camp is around the corner and what a year of planning it is shaping out to be.  The State of Illinois shared the parameters we are to follow just weeks ago and we have begun the arduous work of shaping our program to best fit the needs of our Scouts while keeping their safety and health our number one priority.  It's going to be quite a summer with around 900 participants currently registered for Scouts BSA summer camp.

As we prepare, we look forward to our first event held at Camp in over a year- the Monroe Kiwanis Spring Work Weekend.  It will be a good trial run for us as we welcome folks to camp within specific mitigations.  By the time you all arrive for the reunion at the end of July, we will be a well oiled machine!

This last year has been difficult for all of us, but the Spirit of Canyon Camp keeps us moving.  Having Scouts back in camp this summer will be the wind in our sails that we so desperately long for and it cannot come soon enough.  There is nothing that will rival the feeling of the Staff coming back together for our first gathering of the 2021 season.  A close second will be the Staff Alumni coming together in a few short months!  Read below plans for the reunion, exciting updates for the Stewards initiative, and information regarding the fall Woodcutter's Ball.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
