Hi neighbor!
Happy June - we hope you're staying cool. We have a little neighborhood news to share today!
This past month, we held a Special Election to elect (or re-elect) board members who will serve for the remainder of 2024. We're happy to say that 40 homes successfully voted in four HOA Board Members to join Dennis Proffitt. Since then, there has been a first board meeting where the officers voted and confirmed each officers' position. Find out who your HOA Board Members are here!
Aside from the regular duties, the Board will focus on getting the bylaws up-to-date since the most recent copy is from 1992. This is no small feat for our volunteer HOA Board members so we hope the process goes as smoothly as possible. The next election will be held in December and all officer positions will be available again. If you're at all interested, please let the board know sooner rather than later.
At the special election, Dennis announced that this year, our HOA has applied for and been granted a one-time beautification grant of $10,000 from Dan Schmitt at Henrico County. This is much needed funding since we went $13,000+ over-budget last year (you can see the 2023 budget analysis here) due to an increase in landscaping costs and the number of hazardous trees that needed removal.
Speaking of funding, 171 of 191 homes have paid their HOA dues for 2024. Thank you to all who have paid on time. Our HOA is still due $2,500 in payments. If you have not paid yet, please send it today (instructions here). Reminder that HOA fees are not optional.
Last piece of business, how should we address the speeding issue on Attems? We've prepared a 2-question survey to see how our community would like to collectively resolve this issue. This survey has been on our website since December and the last chance to vote is Thursday, June 6.
Now for the fun stuff...
