Greetings CCCHS Members, I am not sure how summer is flying by so quickly, but I hope many of you can enjoy a relaxing July 4th weekend with friends and family. In July and August we will continue with our Zoom meeting format. Please see below for our updated Zoom link. We hope you can join us to hear our presenters and share agency information! I am pleased to report a sense of normalcy is slowly resurfacing for CCCHS as we work with Calvary Church and anticipate in-person meetings beginning in September! We are in the early stages of planning our Lunch with the Legislators in October and our annual meeting in November. The Training & Education Committee is also working on programming for the fall. Registration will be announced and open soon. Finally, we are fortunate to have a wonderful website with great information for our members. We are looking for a few individuals to help us keep it updated. If you are interested in learning how to use the WIX platform to make changes and upload information, we are hosting a mini-training session at 2:30 PM on July 22nd at Careerlink in Bellefonte. If you have an interest in helping with this – maybe 20 -30 minutes per month – please email me for details at mbottorf2016@gmail.com. I look forward to seeing you via Zoom next Wednesday. Have a safe and restful July 4th holiday! With Warmest Regards, Melissa Bottorf CCCHS President PA Link to ADRC |

The Bobbi Bronstein Award for Community Involvement &The Ann Graybil Cook Volunteer Awards Recipients of the Bobbi Bronstein Award for Community Involvement and the Ann Graybil Cook Volunteer Awards are usually celebrated at the Rose Cologne Volunteer Dinner. This year the CCCHS recognized The Calvary Church and Jeannine Lozier with tributes published in the Centre Daily Times and hand-delivered flowers. |

The Calvalry Church receives the Bobbi Bronstein Award for Community Involvement Tribute Excerpt When the Centre County Council for Human Services needed a home, we found one at Calvary Church. The mission of the church is to “live out the Gospel by connecting people to Christ, Community and their Calling.” They have truly lived out their mission with their on-going support and unwavering hospitality to CCCHS. Each month our members and guests drive up the long winding road that leads us to Harvest Fields. We enter through the beautiful glass doors and return to our home. We find familiar seats alongside our colleagues who have now become friends. It’s the place that connects us to one another. It’s the place where we learn about how we, as human services professionals, can collaborate on new ideas and find ways to help our neighbors who need us most.

Jeannine Lozier,Receives the Ann Graybil Cook Volunteer Award, 2021 Tribute Excerpt Responsible for sourcing and managing our new website platform, Jeannine's diligence, creativity, and problem-solving skills continue to impact our organization today. Her work helped create processes that ensure that we serve members quickly and efficiently via website notifications and updates, online membership and registrations, the monthly newsletter, Member Update emails, and online payments. Jeannine served on the board until December 2018 but continued to devote time to manage the website and mentor members of the Marketing Committee until late 2020. Her contributions to the Council will have a long-lasting and progressive impact on the Council’s future.

We thank you for your contributions to the community and the Centre County Council for Human Services! |

Mount Nittany Health Launches Campaign to Encourage Community Members to Get Vaccinated |
May 26, 2021 Mount Nittany Health announced today its campaign for continued community education on the COVID-19 vaccine. “Doctors’ orders: Don’t wait. Vaccinate!” offers an online toolkit for community leaders and members at-large to support having difficult but crucial conversations with those hesitant to be vaccinated. “With just under 44 percent of Centre County fully vaccinated, we still have a long way to go until the majority of our community is vaccinated and we can further relax COVID mitigation measures and safely return to more normal routines,” shares Mount Nittany Health Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Tiffany Cabibbo, DSc. Whether speaking with family, friends or colleagues, facts are crucial to help with conversations about the vaccine. English and Spanish versions of a COVID-19 vaccine fact sheet, helpful talking points, sample social media posts and a promotional flyer – appropriate for personal or business use – can be downloaded at mountnittany.org/covid/vaccine-resources. “All Pennsylvanians ages 12 and older eligible to schedule their vaccination appointments – 12 to 17-year-olds are currently eligible for the Pfizer vaccine,” adds Dr. Cabibbo. “We strongly encourage everyone that is eligible to sign up for a vaccine as soon as possible.” To sign up for your COVID-19 vaccine at Mount Nittany Health, you can register on our COVID-19 webpage at mountnittany.org/coronavirus. Click “Sign up now” and complete the form at your convenience. As a reminder, you do not need to be a Mount Nittany Health patient to request an appointment, and there is no out-of-pocket cost for the vaccine. We will contact you with your appointment date and time. To see a full list of vaccination clinics in the area, please visit vaccines.gov. |
