Michigan Made x Under Armour

 - Week 4 Update -

The final two weeks of our inaugural Michigan Made x Under Armour Flag Football League are upon us!

With our league's NFL-style rotating prime-time schedule, our K-2 grade division is going to have their time to shine bright as the sun sets over Homer Township Park in weeks 5 and 6.

As always, thank you to all of the parents, volunteers, athletes, officials and our amazing cast of coaches. We appreciate everyone on the field and in the background coming together and doing their part to make this thing move!

If you're enjoying this competitive recreational league and crave more, we offer an elite 7v7 football organization vying to combine the area's best coaches and athletes to represent the Central Michigan and Tri-Cities Regions - locally and nationally!

Week 4 Game Notes:

• Rollin' Rollin' Rollin': The K-2nd grade Jags put the league on notice beating the previously unbeaten Packers. Now they have a chance to take down another unbeaten in the Bears in week 5.

• Reservation, Party of 3: The K-2nd grade Bears, 5-6th grade Titans and 7-8th grade Raiders remain as the final three unbeaten teams in the 2020 fall season.

• Can't Stop, Won't Stop: The 3-4th grade Lion's big week 4 win over the Chargers makes their week 5 game vs the Texans a #1 vs #2 match up for the division crown.

• Back2Back: This is the second weekend in a row in our league with an overtime game being played - this time with the 7-8th grade Ravens winning 16-13 over the Panthers on an interception!

• This is How We Do It: We follow NCAA football's exciting style of overtime rules with each team getting a chance with the ball. Because the Ravens intercepted the ball on the first possession of OT earning 3 points, they did not need an offensive possession to win the contest - the pick sealed the deal!

Week 4 RISING STARS

Round of applause for week #4's RISING STARS!

With two weeks to go, the best keep getting better. And as playoff positions become more important, RISING STAR Scott Thomas and the Jags keep climbing higher and higher! In week 4 Scott had a pick 6 against the undefeated Packers along with a vital 3rd down reception. He added a long run on a reverse for another 1st down in the game. Scott did not allow one completed pass from his free safety position on defense, while pulling multiple flags. Great job, kid!

After taking down the division's #2 ranked team, the 3-1 Jags will be put to the the test again against the top dogs, the 4-0 Bears.

3-4th Grade RISING STAR, Ryan Streeter, is defensive leader for a Lions team that people are beginning to shy away from on Sundays - for all of the right reasons. This Lions team sits at 4-1 and leads the division in every offensive and defensive category, with Ryan being a big part of their success.

Ryan made his mark in week 4 defensively with a trifecta. He notched three huge stops, on three different series, each on third down.

"Ryan's instincts and leadership at linebacker are what I love about coaching him, most," said Coach, AJ Janni. "He also had two huge third down completions to keep our drive alive late in the second half of the game."

Ryan and the Lions get their #1 vs #2 rematch with the Texans who beat them by one point in their previous meeting. This one means twice as much as the first match up meant, and will lock in the #1 overall seed in the division for the regular season!

In the heat of a multi-team tie for second place in the 5th-6th Grade division, RISING STAR Jacob Lampi, has been a quiet and unselfish team player that leads the Bills by his actions on the field! The 3-1 team looks to keep quietly rumbling to the top of league standings but will have to bring their absolute best to take down the 3-1 49ers who haven't lost a game since week 1.

The Eagles nab their first RISING STAR winner of the season in Isaiah Hoffman, and boy, did he earn in it convincing fashion. In week 4's round robin of contests, Isaiah paved the way for the second-place Eagles squad with great leadership and 3 touchdowns on the day. He also helped out tremendously on defense communicating, breaking up multiple passes and snagging an interception. What a day, Zay!
