Exciting News!

Check out all our latest opening updates below

We are finally allowed to open!!

As you are aware the government has announced gyms can reopen from the 25th July.  This is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to show off the changes in and around the club.

The gym has seen a major refurbishment over the closed period with a new layout, new kit and plans have been put in place to reflect the guidelines set out by the government and our governing body; UK Active. These have been put in place for your safety and the safety of our team. The gym will look different as a result of this and we will all have to behave differently to respect the ‘new normal’ but we are confident that you can still continue to enjoy the TPHC experience.

We have created a dedicated room to carry out Bootcamp/HIIT & Boxing focussed classes, filling it with equipment from Stairmasters HIIT range including a HIITMILL, Upper Body Ergometer, the HIIT Bike that you all fell in love with (!) as well as two Boxmasters for Covid safe boxing without the need for partner pad holding. We really believe this space will offer you workouts that you love to hate with the new wall mounted speed ball producing the knock-out blow!

Finally the main gym area thinks all its Christmas’ have come at once with completely new flooring, a new spacious layout and a sprinkling of new equipment for you all to enjoy!

OPEN WEEKEND

We will open on the 25th & 26th July for an OPEN WEEKEND. This is open to both existing members who want to see what we have done and for those looking to re-join or sign up to see what equipment is available. Please do try to come along. This time will allow us to show off what we have done to improve the gym experience, to discuss the new rules and regs so that you can feel confident in coming to train once we fully open. This will also give us the opportunity to update your contact details for the Trace and Trace system (this will save you time on your first booked visit). You will also get to say HI! to the team and we will get to thank you all personally for your support over these last few difficult months. The open weekend will run from 10am – 4pm each day. There is no need to book but we will have to manage capacity so please bear with us if you have to wait a little while.

FULL OPENING

The gym will RE-OPEN for on Monday 27th July at 6.30 AM.  We will firm up the gym opening hours over the coming days so keep an eye on our website. These may be different to what you were used to and will need to be reviewed regularly as we navigate the costs of opening versus the demand. Until we have a gym that you can come to it is proving very difficult to predict how busy the session times will be.

BOOKING SYSTEM

In order to workout at the gym you will need to use the booking systems normally reserved for booking classes. You will access this via your Clubwise log-in details and you will have the ability to book 2 weeks in advance. If a session is full you’ll go onto the waiting list and you’ll be notified when a space comes up. We will have to be very strict with no-shows so please respect others by cancelling any booked sessions with 24 hrs notice minimum.  Following the industry guidelines we will be running at a reduced capacity and will review this closely Each bookable session will be 60 minutes. You must arrive on time for your session so that you can be checked in and have your temperature checked. You are not obliged to stay for the full hour but you cannot stay longer. Failure to arrive on time will result in missed sessions. We have been advised to discourage the use of showers but if it is essential that you shower you will need to finish your workout early to allow for time to shower within your hour slot. Once the hour is done, everyone will leave and the gym will have a full clean before the next session begins. You can queue alongside the side of the building on the marked spots until your session begins and the cycle repeats.  PLEASE bring your membership card for check in to avoid unnecessary touch points on the keyboard.

STUDIO CLASSES

We will continue to run classes online to the current timetable for at least the first 2 weeks, this is to allow everyone time to settle into the new rules within the gym and for the team to become more comfortable moving around safely around you all. Soon enough it will all become second nature.  We are currently working on implementing the necessary changes in the studio and although we plan to have this complete by 25th July (so that you can see the studio in on our Open Weekend) we will do a phased reopening of this offering.  We will look to add classes to the studio but will also continue to live stream these so members can still work out from home if they wish. You will need to bring your own mats. Studio classes will run inside of marked boxes to ensure that you can keep a safe distance from others and there will be no sharing of equipment. In light of the required distancing the class capacity will be dramatically reduced. Booking and attendance for these will be strictly managed to ensure that we are making best use of what you guys want and aiming to give you the best quality classes possible. We will be selling our new blue mats (£10 each) at our Open Weekend as we know that these have been in short supply online.

MEMBERSHIPS

Memberships will become active again from September which will be done automatically so you don’t need to do anything for this to happen.  If you would like your membership to remain on freeze please let us know before the 18th July by emailing Dan Mead (dmead@theparkhealthclub.com)

CONTACTLESS, CLEANING & ELECTROCLEAN

We are being encouraged to reduce touch points as much as possible so sign-ups will completed digitally. Please pay for waters/pro-rata fees etc using contactless where possible. Please arrive wearing your gym kit to reduce the touch points and contamination in the changing rooms. Please ensure that you phone can be stored in a pocket or arm sleeve so that you are not putting it down and picking it up around the gym. Secure lockers will be available in the changing room but we would appreciate the use of these being kept to a minimum. Although we will be having the gym electrostatically cleaned to ensure that the whole gym has an antibacterial coating which will continually kills germs and viruses this will not suffice in a heavy use gym environment. You will be fully expected to clean and wipe down touch points of equipment after every use and cleaning products and cloths will be provided to you to ensure that this happens. Please respect your fellow members and our staff by adhering to this. This will all be re-cleaned between every booking.

WHAT IS ELECTROSTATIC CLEANING?

The electrostatic cleaning method creates a static layer on surfaces allowing for a superior layer of disinfectant solution to “stick” to microbes, bacteria and viruses. This 360° wrapping of microbes, viruses and bacteria allows for an unrivalled level of decontamination and leaves surfaces protected for up to 28 days after treatment.

Electro Clean use a cleaning solution which is Non-Toxic, fragrance free, chlorine free and alcohol free. It degrades / decomposes into non harmful by products of oxygen and water meaning it is environmentally friendly. These benefits coupled with the ease of use, prolonged antimicrobial effect and materials compatibility make Electrostatic the sensible choice for any high traffic area and should give you peace of mind whilst you are at the club..

FACE COVERINGS

At the moment these are not compulsory within gyms. We will provide our staff with a Visor and a Face covering for them to use at their own discretion. If you would feel more comfortable wearing something please do, we will have a small offering of single use masks which will be available at check in for £1 each.

THANKYOU...for reading this far!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us through these difficult times, it is this loyalty and kindness that has motivated us to re-open our doors. We have a passionate team, a loyal membership base and a club that we hope really stands out.

We are excited to see you all again over the coming weeks!

Regards

Dan, Ray, Imo and the whole TPHC Team
