What's New this week?

Breakfast, Lunch and Brunch

We checked out the curry & rice buffet lunch at Aliya Lounge and, happy to say, we enjoyed it. Look out for photos on instagram and facebook shortly.

There's a new, well priced lunch menu at Level4, next to Dutch Hospital, featuring classic dishes such as lamprais, kottu and biriyani. Free delivery in the immediate area, otherwise via Uber Eats. If you dine-in, then you can enjoy a free mocktail.

Monday is Poya Day, so the regular Poya vegetarian buffet lunch will be available at Thali's from 11am to 3pm.

We're not sure if this counts as dinner or breakfast... but the Gardenia restaurant at Ramada hotel has launched a night owls menu available from midnight to dawn on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you're out late, this is the place to drop in to satisfy those late night hunger pangs.

Happy Hours & Ladies' Night

This Thursday, there will be another Ladies' Night at Le Papillon with a buy-one-get-1-free deal on gin cocktails and music from Shehan and Shane.

Not a ladies' night as such but Darley Road offers free cocktails to ladies from 5pm to 9pm when there is a band playing, so usually Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Ladies can also enjoy a free drink or two before the music starts at Drunk Panda on Friday, from 7pm to 8pm.

There's very little happening on Mondays and Tuesdays so it's nice to see a Happy Hour offer from A Minute by Tuktuk, in One Gall Face, with deals on beer, arrack and gin.

If you've not yet tried it, Aliya Lounge in Dutch Hospital have a happy hour from 4pm to 7pm daily And if you don't want to go all the way into town then Rampe in Rajagiriya (above Sushi Bar Samurai) have a Happy Hour on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 6pm to 8pm.
