Genesis: Genetic Research & Digital Visualization in the Performing Arts |
'Genesis' is a research project aiming to use digital tools in order to increase the accessibility of high quality performing arts content and of the process of its production, with the ultimate aim to advance research and documentation. The project studies and records all the stages of the creative process, from initial conception to stage completion. Looking into this process is now understood as a necessary condition for an in-depth analysis and interpretation of a performance. |
The genetic analysis of performance focuses on the way dramatic and stage composition come together on stage, the way directors work on the dramatic material, the detection and understanding of the theoretical background of artistic thought, the sources and points of reference of the creators, the rehearsals and teaching of performers, as well as art direction, costumes, lighting and all that makes a performance complete. |
