February Love languages, women working and the need for adaptive leadership and high EQ.
I just moved to LA for a few months to escape the snow, and I find myself in the middle of an historic "atmospheric river". No snow, lots of rain. Oh well. Lots of time to catch up on my reading. Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day is almost here. This year, show yourself some love by letting go of any old tapes in your head that says you can't. You can. Are you struggling to achieve a goal? What is one thing you can do today to move yourself forward? Cathryn Noyes

Love Languages Gary Chapman's book "The 5 Love Languages", first published in 1992, focused on improving communication in romantic relationships. But how might we think about them in a work context?
As leaders, understanding each team member's primary love language—whether it's words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, or physical touch—can help you tailor your leadership approach to better motivate and support your team. For instance, recognizing and acknowledging achievements with words of affirmation, providing assistance or acts of service when needed, organizing team-building activities to spend quality time together, or occasionally offering small tokens of appreciation can all contribute to a positive work environment. By recognizing and respecting the diverse ways in which individuals feel valued and appreciated, you can contribute to making your workplace more harmonious and productive. |
