I'm really excited about the latest developer video that I've released today. I've made a ton of progress in a short period of time and I'm thrilled to share all of the new features with you. Although there's still a ton of work left to be done, my focus has been on getting some core gameplay loop features implemented and as such, I feel like the game is already fun to play even in its very limited capacity. My apologies for the lack of a new level, I'm sure you're all tired of seeing the slums. I'll try to get some of the cyberpunk city blocks implemented for the next video. |

As those of you who have signed up for the alpha test are obviously my most die-hard fans, I thought I'd put together a quick poll to see how you feel about getting access to a playable version of the game. Mainly I'm curious whether you all are interested in getting your hands on any playable version of the game ASAP, or if you'd rather wait until things are a bit more polished and put together. https://s.surveyplanet.com/1qsf7nfw With the idea of creating a community for the game, I created a discord channel for those interested in talking about the game and being part of a community. I'll be sure to respond to discussions or comments occasionally, but don't expect me to reply daily, otherwise, the game will never get finished, haha! https://discord.gg/Rrhy2Xkstt |

As I mention in the video, Sky Gibbs aka Darkavelli 845 is going to be collaborating with John to write an original track for the game, so be sure to check out their Sound Cloud (https://soundcloud.com/sky-gibbs/tracks) for some amazing songs! I'd also like to address something from the original Newsletter/Alpha sign-up blurb on the website. For those of you who registered a few months back, the website stated that there would be "giveaways" that went along with the newsletter. This idea was something that I got from an indie game marketing course that I purchased, and to be honest, it felt rather disingenuous because the "giveaways" were going to be in the form of concept art or music, etc. as suggested by the marketing course. I decided to remove the mention of giveaways from the sign-up, because not only do I feel it was misleading, but I realized it's also going to attract people who are only interested in a potential giveaway and not the game itself. So, if there are a few of you who originally signed up back when that was a thing, I firstly want to apologize, and secondly want to say that I will eventually do at least one proper giveaway in the future that every subscriber will be eligible for. I just have to figure out what that might be. I'm thinking more along the lines of an experience with or within the game, rather than something cliched like t-shirts, stickers, etc. If you have any ideas for what you'd like it to be, let me know. |

That's it for this month. Oh, I also wanted to point out that I'm terrible at adhering to a specific schedule, so these Newsletters and developer videos will show up on a "whenever I feel like it" schedule as opposed to monthly or bi-monthly. Just want to set the right expectation with all of you :) |
