MEMBER AFFIRMATION EXERCISE

As we welcome new members into our church each year, we would also like our existing members to affirm their membership. The Church Council invites all members of The Bible Church, Singapore to take part in this exercise.

A form, as well as a message from our Council Chairman, Elder Lynette Shek, (click here for the message: https://youtu.be/ELoAEP7aEvM) has been emailed or sent via post (for those without email address) to all members.

We would be grateful if you could complete and submit the Google form by 10 December 2023. If you have not received the email/letter or if you have any queries, please feel free to talk to any of our church Elders, Deacons or Pastors. CHANGE IN SERVICE TIMINGS

Starting 2-3 December 2023, the English Worship Services timings will be changed as follows:

Saturday English Service: 5.00pm-6.30pm

Sunday English Service 1: 8.30am-10.00am

Sunday English Service 2: 10.30am-12.00pm

Kids For Christ (KFC) will also follow the above timings for Saturday English Service and Sunday English Service 2.

This change brings us back to pre-Covid timings, which affords us a slightly longer time for the services.

Service timings for Teenacity, CRUX and Chinese Service will remain unchanged.

COLOURS OF CHRISTMAS

A Christmas Party organised by the Good Neighbours

Every month, volunteers from The Bible Church have been reaching out to show the love of Jesus to our Good Neighbours beneficiaries. These beneficiaries include at-risk teenage girls from Gladiolus Place, migrant brothers at Kranji Recreation Centre, and low-income families residing in West Coast & Clementi.

This Christmas, we hope to invite these beneficiaries for a time of food, fun and celebration, where we will also share the true meaning of Christmas with them.

Details:

Date: 10 December 2023 (Sunday)

Time: 5.00-8.00pm

Venue: The Bible Church, Singapore (152 West Coast Road, Singapore 127370)

Highlights include: Buffet dinner, live ice cream and prata stations, photobooth, blessing draw, pre-loved gift corner, live band & door gifts.

HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?

• Packing and wrapping of door gifts and blessing draw prizes (note: this will take place on 8 December (Friday), 2.00pm)

• Logistics assistant (for registration, pre-loved gift corner, photo booth, etc.)

• Befriender & table host*

  Donate new items for the blessing draw or secondhand items in good condition for the pre-loved gift corner. Recommended items for donation: small household items, small electrical appliances, electronic devices, bags, stationery, shirts for men, food items (halal).

*If you have been a volunteer to these Good Neighbours beneficiaries, you are encouraged to sign up as a befriender so that you can host the beneficiaries you have been reaching out to.

CAMBODIA-EQUIPASIA (EA) GRADUATION & MISSION FIELD VISIT

Dates: 17 to 21 November 2023

The master trainers from Cambodia who graduated from the EA training program in Singapore in 2017 have in turn been training several Christian leaders in the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Currently the 5th batch of EA training is going on for 15 students. An EA graduation will be held on 18 November 2023 for these EA students. Ps Lim Wei-en and Brother Yong Kae Jye, Eugene will be going to Cambodia to attend the EA graduation. They will then go to Prey Veng to visit our Missionaries, Tuck Weng and Lian See and visit some of their ministry sites.

Please pray for:

1. The EA graduation on 18 Nov. Pray that students will be encouraged by the message to be delivered by Ps Wei-en.

2. The students to be more effective in their respective ministries by applying what they have learnt from the EA materials.

3. The master trainers to be united as they plan their next training program and to be able to recruit students to participate in the program.

4. A safe trip for the team going from our church. Pray for safety during the local road travel.

5. The village outreach work we will be visiting outside Prey Veng. Pray that our team will be a source of encouragement to the local believers.

6. Our Missionaries, Tuck Weng and Lian See. Pray that they will be encouraged by the visit of Ps Wei-en and Kae Jye, Eugene.

DONATION DRIVE FOR CEBU MISSION TRIP 2023

There will be a mission trip to Cebu from 26 to 30 December 2023. Our church has a long-standing partnership with the local church in Cebu and has been conducting yearly mission trips there. The local pastors have requested for more resources to support the worship ministry and the Go To School (GTS) program, a program integrated with the local church’s outreach work.

We will be conducting a donation drive from 18 November 2023 (Saturday) to 15 December 2023 (Friday) in support of these efforts. We recommend donating the following items:

* Working laptops (with charger, preferably with Microsoft Office installed)

* Acoustic guitars (with strings)

* Music theory books (with simple theory notes)

* For collection in church of the above items. Do note that we might be unable to take on all donations due to luggage constraints. The donation drive will close at 6.00pm on 15 December 2023 (Friday).

JOIN THE PA & WAH TEAM!

PA VOLUNTEERS

1. Audio - balance the sound levels in the sanctuary such that any spoken word or music on stage may be delivered audibly and clearly with minimal distractions.

2. Visuals - click through the slides in a timely fashion, allowing congregational participation during the worship service.

3. Video - operate the video camera in the sanctuary and livestreams the service to those who might not be able to take part in the worship service physically.

PRAYER@CG

Prayer@CG is an effort to have the church come together through synchronized prayer in small groups. Prayer meetings are held by respective CARE Groups (CGs). If you are not in a CG, you are strongly encouraged to join one for prayer.

POST-MISSION TRIPS THANKSGIVING

Since August this year, we have sent mission teams to Mongolia, Nepal, India and Cambodia. One team went to conduct a retooling workshop for our church planters in Kathmandu. Another team went to conduct dental clinics in villages in West Nepal. By God’s grace, He has protected our mission teams. We have been used by God to encourage many church planters and Christian leaders. We would like to invite you to hear the stories from our mission trippers and join us in thanking God for his goodness during these trips. Time will be allocated to pray for these nations.

COUNSELLING MINISTRY

There are certain times in our lives when we feel stuck or unable to cope. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties.

Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel.
