Inner Focus

The Light of Time

We might take for granted the splendor that the moon affords us every single evening to ponder change. As it goes through its cycles, so do we, and in that we sense a connection to a greater whole. Think about following:

What brings you an awareness of the passage of time?

In what ways do you feel part of a greater whole?

In my new post, "Changing Day by Day", I share the secrets embedded into our very way of marking time in the Jewish year.

How do Jewish Business Ethics differ from our American perspective? What does Jewish law say about competition in the marketplace? What do ancient sources tell us about intellectual property? I will be leading a short four-week courses on Jewish Business Ethics beginning in October on Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 PM ET.

Inner Moments

As we come into the month of Elul, a time of introspection, take a few moments now to feel centered by noticing your breath. Notice all the changes that you can perceive with each breath: your chest rising and falling, a sense of calm enveloping you, the slight and sweet sound that your very breath makes with each inhale and exhale. Do that fully and intentionally. When random thoughts enter your mind, don't chase them away, instead...let them pass through you, as if you were a window. Keep focusing on your breath, and extend each in-breath and out-breath just a little bit more. Keep your focus just on your breath. And then, when you are ready to conclude, begin by   recognizing that your gift of life is from the Source.

Making Torah Personal

This course will begin in the Fall, on Tuesdays from 10:00 am - 11:30 am ET, after the Chaggim/Holidays. We will discuss the weekly Torah portion and its relevancy for our lives. The course will be kept intentionally small, so you might want to reserve the times, since there are those who have already expressed interest. I will let you know when registration opens.
