3. Holiday Celebration
Following the business meeting, Betty Sue Vincent said “grace” and invited attendees to enjoy a bountiful meal and fellowship. After the meal 32 members participated in an anonymous “brown bag” gift exchange. Members drew numbers and, one at a time, selected a gift and showed it to the group. After the first selection, subsequent members selected items from the gift table or a previously opened gift. If a participant’s gift was stolen, that person was allowed to select another gift. Many of the coveted handmade items exchanged multiple times.
Door prizes were won by Donna York and Tammy Clark.
The silent auction of the vintage quilts garnered $290.00. The highest bidders were Mike Brannon, Ellen Mallette, and Cathy McVay.
The meeting was adjourned with wishes for happy holidays.
