Hey Happeners, Sorry for the short, unintended break but here we are again! It's good to see a number of the regular events back again and some new events coming up. There's not so many meal deals as there used to be which is probably to be expected considering the availability of some products but we are seeing some new offers and menu refreshers. As for music, the weather puts a bit of a dampener (haha) on large, outdoor DJ parties but there are still indoor music events. Anyway, here's a rundown of what we know about now for some new offers and happenings for the rest of the week but do check here from time to time as new events are being announced every day, especially just after we send our newsletter, but we do update the site regularly. Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch The Fab has introduced a new brunch menu available at their Colpetty outlet. Pride of place is surely the Big Breakfast, a full western breakfast to set you up for the day, priced at Rs2,300. Soy and Szechuan have updated their Executive Pack lunch. You can now choose from six main courses (including favourites like Kung Pao Chicken or Black Pepper Beef) with a vegetable side dish and Burnt Garlic Egg Fried Rice. The pack costs Rs970 per person and can be ordered through the usual delivery companies. The Mandarina have introduced a new weekday Executive Lunch buffet. Available from Monday to Friday, 12.00pm to 2.30pm, there are various options with prices starting from Rs990 per person. Another choice on offer at the Mandarina is the Indian Thali. This is available daily from 12.00pm to 3.00pm and there four options - vegetarian, chicken, fish or beef, priced starting from Rs1,850. The Regent Country Club welcome non-members to the Sunday Lunch Buffet at their "Crown" restaurant. Open on Sundays from 12.00pm to 2.30pm it also offers use of the pool from 10.00am to 2.00pm and is priced at Rs3,000. | | |

High Tea and Dinner The weekly happy hour specials at Food Studio continue this week. From Monday to Thursday, 5.30pm to 7.30pm, you can get 25% off Crunchy Prawn Tempura Rolls at Tokyo Shokudo at One Galle Face, and 25% off Mughal Shashlik or Chicken Biriyani from Mughlabar at Colombo City Centre, until this Thursday 2 June. On Friday, Hyve Desserts are introducing a new treat to the menu; Savoury Waffles. These come with cheese, ham and egg and look, well, wafflicious! Friday is Italian night, or Festa Italia, at Flow at the Hilton Colombo Residence. The dinner buffet includes Italian salads, pastas, favourite dishes and of course pizzas. Available from 7.00pm to 10.30pm for Rs5,200 per person. And moving into the weekend, Movenpick offers an Epicurean International Buffet at Ayu restaurant on Saturday for dinner and Sunday for lunch. Offering dishes and treats from around the world, dinner or lunch costs Rs4,900. | | |

Happy Hours & Ladies' Night 1st June is "Beer Me Up" day at The Travelling Bruncher with a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal on Lion Beers from 5pm to 7pm. Thursday, 2 June, it's free Cosmopolitan and Arack Sour cocktails for the first 15 minutes of every hour at Botanik. Also on Thursday, the Happy Hour lasts all evening at Re.pub.LK, with a 1+1 offer on selected cocktails, from 5pm to midnight,. Meanwhile if you're going to Curve Bar, get there early as they are offering a Classic Mojito free to the first 10 customers from 7pm to 8pm, Monday to Thursday. And good news for the rooftop views. Vistas has extended their happy hours so you can now enjoy the sundowners and chill for longer. Enjoy 1+1 on selected cocktails from 4pm to 7pm, Sunday to Thursday and from 4pm to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. | | |

Live Music and DJs A lot of gigs have not yet been announced for this upcoming weekend. This is partly due to the uncertain circumstances, including ease of access to parts of the Fort area which affects a lot of regular venues. Our gig diary is updated several times a day so you can check it any time. On Friday Dis & Dat will be at Re.pub.LK, OiC at The Joint, The Notion at In on the Green and Cold Sweat at SunsetBlu. On Saturday, there's a big show at Colombar with Senaka Batagoda and Billy Fernando, backed by 2Forty2. As well as that, Cold Sweat will be at The Joint and we hope for a few more confirmations before the weekend! On Sunday, BMICH is hosting "Legends", four great names from music: Kasun Kalhara, Indrachapa Liyanage, Nadeeka Guruge and Nadeeka Jayawardane. Over to the decks and on Wednesday, Love Bar is getting "Savage" with DJs Ace, Dirty Dzn and Sash. Over at Zouk, Kyze is joining regular DJs Ludispex and Jadon Fonka for "Femme" night. Frantic Friday at Zouk means Hip-Hop, R&B, Commercial and House, with DJs Ace, Dirty Dzn and Scorpio joining resident DJs Ludi Spex and Jadon Fonka. Other Events Art Lovers: a new exhibition of paintings by Laki Senanayake opens at Gallery Four Life on Thursday, until 30 June. Sunday is World Environment Day and at One Galle Face are hosting a knowledge sharing session with a diverse panel. This will take place at the Ocean Avenue Atrium at 5.00pm. Barista have launched an app and, for a limited time, have some bite and drink deals, such as an Egg Salad Sandwich and a cappuccino for Rs580, exclusively available via the app. There's a new Yoga for Seniors session on Wednesdays from 11.30am to 1.00pm at Prana Lounge, with focus on breathing, stretching and relaxation of muscles. | | |
