Welcome Honkers!
Our goslings have been such a wonderful addition to our homestead.  They are fun, goofy birds who are filled with joy.  Here are a few things we've learned:
They happily greet humans with boisterous voices and outstretched necks.
They have oil glands near the base of their bums.  They use their long necks to distribute the oils throughout their feathers to stay clean and waterproof.  
 

They are not fans of snakes or items that resemble snakes. 
When threats are present, such as unknown creatures, they honk extremely loud and hiss with wide open mouths and tongues out.  It's quite frightening! We are grateful for their protection of our chickens.
They are very nosey.  Just like babies and toddlers who are exploring their surroundings, our geese put almost everything in their mouths. 
They are tricky to sex so we aren't ready to honor them with names yet.
They grow extremely fast!  See proof in the photos below.

THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 12
The Farm Stand will be CLOSED while we participate in one of our favorite summer events, Susie the Duck Day in Lodi, WI.  It's a fun-filled day for all ages.  
Please stop by our vendor booth to say "hi" and find some goodies.  We'll have homemade bread, fresh eggs, unique house plants, and more!

Our homemade bread continues to be the most popular item from our homestead.  If you'd like to ensure you don't miss out on the deliciousness, feel free to place your order ahead of time.
Orders must be placed online by Wednesday of each week for pick up that same weekend.  Your bread will be bagged up with your name on it and ready in our Farm Stand.
