1892, Tacoma, Washington

Elin Kristiansen has her hands full as a single mother following the tragic death of her husband in a shipwreck off the rocky coast of the Pacific Northwest. Thankfully, the U.S. government has recognized the need for a lighthouse at Brown’s Point, and Elin couldn’t be more pleased when her father accepts the position of Keeper. However, she just can’t seem to bring herself to accompany him on his weekly rowboat trips to the station to tend the lamp – and what’s more, the mere thought of Finn, her son, setting foot on board sets her insides churning.

Elin knows her father keeps hoping she’ll get over the terror that washes over her every time she considers braving the waters, but she's starting to have doubts. When she gets into an argument with Finn over his adamant wish to learn how to swim, she can’t possibly trust the handsome captain who offers to instruct him and vows to keep him safe – or can she?

Mail-Order Melanie

Love On Golden Hills Ranch

Left penniless and homeless, Beckham socialite Melanie Rutherford sees no other option but to become a mail order bride. Luckily, a wealthy rancher in Colorado needs a wife, and although she’s not entirely thrilled with the idea of going west, at least she’ll be able to live the lifestyle she’s accustomed to. However, when she arrives in Cedar Valley, Colorado, she learns that her betrothed has married someone else.

When Tom Harper’s brother, Earl, elopes with his childhood sweetheart, Tom is elected to break the news to the mail-order bride he was supposed to marry. Tom has no intention of getting married, yet something about the woman who arrives on the stage makes his brain shut down and he finds himself offering to take his brother’s place.

With nowhere to go and no way to get back to Boston, she accepts Tom's proposal, only to discover that Earl had lied about many things – including the fact that he didn't own a prosperous ranch, but that he and his family owned a … farm! And she’d be expected to work!

Can a woman who only knows how to host dinner parties and attend the opera ever become a real farmer’s wife? And can a man who didn’t want a wife ever become a real husband? Will Melanie and Tom be able to put their differences aside and allow themselves to have a real marriage?

A Rancher's Bride

Can a rancher and a socialite put their differences aside to find love?

Jacob Fletcher's ranch has always been first in his life. But after seeing his sister happily married, he can't get the idea of a wife and a family out of his mind. With few women nearby, he places an advertisement for a mail-order bride--one who is strong and capable, and able to care for the house while he spends his days tending to the ranch.

Susannah Hughes is on the verge of spinsterhood. With an uncle who refuses to let her marry, she sets her sights West after a dear friend finds love in Colorado. Surely a rancher will be able to provide a good life for a young woman used to city comforts. She answers Jacob's advertisement, packs up all she owns, and heads West. But the ranch isn't the picture of refinement she imagined, and Jacob isn't particularly tolerant of her expectations.

His new wife is afraid of the chickens, despises dirt on her clothing, and can hardly cook an edible meal, and yet Susannah's kindness and friendly disposition slowly make it easier for Jacob to not only overlook her shortcomings, but enjoy her company. Just as Jacob and Susannah begin to acknowledge their feelings, a mysterious package arrives for Susannah--and danger isn't far behind.
