Our latest partnership:

Pura Vida is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Recovery Transportation Systems (RTS) during their pilot program. RTS has secured funding and partnered with LYFT, who is currently underway with providing our residents/clients with much needed transportation. The peace of mind that comes along with knowing that individuals in early recovery can overcome another obstacle, this one being transportation, is priceless! and monumental to their growth in recovery..

​Recovery Transportation Systems (RTS) is a non-profit that partners with transportation providers, rideshare companies, and volunteers to provide reliable and efficient transportation for those committed to long term recovery from substance abuse.

Tom's daughter, an opiate addict, was a resident of one of our Pura Vida sober living homes when he created a vision while trying to help her get work. She expressed overwhelming feelings of loss, isolation and hopelessness because of the difficulties of obtaining reliable transportation. Even if she was successful in being hired, she had no idea how she would get to work.  The buses, friends and family that could help were not always available, reliable or on-time.

Tom saw the “gig” rideshare industry as a valuable untapped resource to bridge this need.  The benefit of this industry is that the access is immediate, three to five minutes in most cases.  The opportunity to provide free transportation to help motivated individuals in recovery using the immediate, plentiful resources found in the rideshare industry was so obvious.

The way it works:

1. Pura Vida employees have enrolled as a "Concierge" for Lyft Ride services. 
2. Any resident/client can notify the House Manager or their counselor ("Concierge")  that they need a ride to and/or from a given location at a given date and time
3. The "Concierge" orders the Lyft ride
 
Residents/clients can get rides for:
• AA/NA/other self-help meetings
• work
• job interviews
• court/probation appearances
• grocery shopping
• doctor/therapist appointments
• IOP or aftercare programming
