Sorry for the silence last week, folks. It's been busy updating all the Christmas weekend and New Year events, plus we were travelling. But here we are, just a few days now until the big day! If you've visited our website recently, you'll have seen that we have a very comprehensive list of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day events, as well as events before and after. We have also compiled a list of New Year's Eve, or 31st Night, events. There are all sorts: dinner only, dinner and music, dinner and DJ, live music only and DJ party nights and, to help find something of interest, we have reproduced it down at the bottom of this newsletter, sorted into type of event. Meal Deals and Food Offers This Friday, Garton's Ark are offering a lunch cruise with international buffet lunch. you can take a lunch cruise on Garton's Ark with dozens of food stalls, live music and entertainment. On Saturday, the "North Pole" Food and Music Festival takes place at Viharamaha Devi with street food and fun starting from midday, with music starting from 6pm. Next week, the Fairway Colombo Street Food Festival is back on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th December; expect food stalls offering wide varieties of street food and some great live music. It starts at 5.00pm each day. And the Food Master Festival will also be taking place on 29th and 30th December on Marine Drive, Colombo 3, with stalls offering food and more and live music. | | |

Drinks Deals It's always nice to share news of another Happy Hour; after all, we do need more happiness! So it's with pleasure that we have news of two new happy hours! The first is at Floatz, the recently opened pub in Marino Mall. The happy hour is literally an hour, from 5pm to 6pm and is from Wednesday to Sunday. On offer are Lion and Carlberg at special prices for a mug, pitcher or tower, starting from Rs400 for a mug. There are also special prices for selected shots, starting from Rs325 for white rum. And the second is at Sky Yard, the rooftop bar and lounge at Hotel MaRadha. Live Music and DJs There are a few big gigs coming up for Christmas and New Year. This Friday, "Exit 2022, the Beat of Hope" features 8 performers with MidLane at Musaeus College Auditorium. On Friday in the clubs, "Just Because it's Christmas" at Disques features DJ Just:Because on the decks with Ace, Rami, The Music Director, Mohith, Dinil & Ayush, from 9.00pm. "The Greatest" over at Zouk features DJs Subandrio, Jayy Vibes & Ultra with house DJs Capital C, Jadon Fonka & Ludispex. Meanwhile "White Noise, Christmas Edition" at Industri has DJs BabeOnDaBeat, Kakes, Lunatics, Trev D & Clifford Issac. And "Bang Bang" at Chiller Room and Fern has DJs Ace, Sojourn, Dinil, Kyze & Mercue. Next week, The Gypsies will have a pre-NYE show on 30 December at the Grand Oriental Hotel, from 8.00pm. Other Events On Friday, there's an Open Mic night at Arthur's Pizzeria, starting from 7.00pm. This weekend there are some Christmas fun workshops for kids at Colombo City Centre. There's a slime station, making a Christmas wreath, games and more. It's suitable for kids aged 3 to 10 and there are sessions from 11.00am and 4.00pm.
