Happy November, Warriors! We hope you had a great month. This month was National Diabetes Month. November was also an awareness month for lung-related illnesses, such as Lung cancer, pneumonia and COPD. We want to not only spread awareness each month, but also provide resources and comfort. November, or should I say, Movember, is also a month to discuss men's health. Let's get started! |

Lung Health Lung Cancer, COPD and pneumonia |

Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in both men and women in the United States. However, there are ways to help prevent lung cancer and also catch it early by knowing the early signs and symptoms of cancer. Regularly getting screening tests, especially if you are at risk or a smoker, can help catch it early. However, not all lung cancer patients are smokers or have been exposed to smoking. In fact, the symptoms of lung cancer are the same in smokers and non-smokers. Also, receiving your HPV shot can help eliminate cancer risks. To learn more about the symptoms and early signs, see the link below. |

(Provided by www.mayoclinic.org.) Emphysema and bronchitis often contribute to COPD. Be aware of the symptoms pf COPD and if you had either of these illnesses. |

World Pneumonia Day, Nov. 12, is to bring awareness to the mass and severity of pneumonia around the world. Pneumonia is common in children under five, and the elderly. It is an infectious respiratory disease in the lung air sacs-the alveoli. The theme of Pneumonia Day 2022 through the World Pneumonia Campaign is Pneumolight 2022, with the slogan Pneumonia Affects Everyone. This year, 42 countries 228 monuments were illuminated to mark the World Pneumonia Day, with an intention to raise visibility of Pneumonia around the world. |

November, aka Movember is to help raise awareness for men's health-specifically for prostate cancer. Recently, Movember has come to also raise awareness for men's mental health in discussions of suicide and depression. This is a helpful link to spark a conversation with a man in your life who may need your help. We support men's health and we support breaking stigma about prostate cancer. Help join the movement and check out more in the link below. | | |

Our warrior of the month is Michael! Michael is an Australian writer and advocate for the disabled and chronic illness communities. Michael lives with Myalgia Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Aside from Michael's daily pain, he sees so much goodness and hope in his life, and hopes everyone can see how humanity was always meant to be together. |
