Apeirogon Games Newsletter | May | 2022 |

Welcome, Everyone to the first of our Bi-monthly Newsletters. I'd like to introduce myself to those of you who don't yet know me. My name is Peter Ryan aka TorQue[MoD], Creative Director of Apeirogon Games, and at least at this point in time, the sole designer of L.A.P.D. 2195 and any other projects released under Apeirogon Games. I'd like to thank you all so much for your interest in L.A.P.D., and Apeirogon Games. Your support means the world to me, and I hope that we can build an awesome relationship together! In the coming months, I will be putting together a Discord Channel as a place for our community members to gather. |

Walk down the right back alley in L.A., and you can find anything. |

I want to apologize in advance for undoubtedly missing a few "bi-monthly" newsletter releases in the future. I've got a dozen roles to play while working as a (mostly) solo developer and I tend to be a bit of an absent-minded professor who also most probably has ADHD (undiagnosed but everyone who knows me is sure). This will certainly mean that I will miss deadlines for newsletters, releases, and the like, but I am dedicated to making all of my games the best that they can be. I'm a Canadian as well, so if I don't start with an apology it would be wholly unpatriotic :P |

The last few weeks (Mid-April to now) have been especially hard for me and my cohorts (John the Musician, and Connor the animator). We all three of us managed to get sick one after the other (Not sure if John kicked it off or I did, and it's strange since we're all remote), and it lasted for around 2 weeks for all of us, and knocked us out of our groove. Then the ultimate blow, this past Friday, May 6th, the love of my life, my best friend and fur baby Asher, died. He was 11.5 years old, and his breeds (Bull Mastiff x Rottweiler) both have an average lifespan of 8 - 10, so he did exceptionally well, but I can't begin to explain the hole that his passing has left in my heart. For the past decade, he's been sleeping behind my computer chair while I toil away at various projects, and he had this beautiful habit of flicking my hand off of my mouse with his nose every few hours to make sure that I got plenty of exercise and fresh air. I try to bury myself in development as a way to avoid dwelling, but every once-in-a-while it catches up with me, and I have to spend some time in my sadness before I can climb out of that hole. |

And on that gloriously sad note, I will end the first official Apeirogon Games Newsletter. I've got a lot of exciting stuff to share with you all in the near future, and can't wait to see your reactions. Feel free to reach out to me directly through the contact page on the website if you'd like to chat. Otherwise, I'll speak with you all again in a few months. In case any of you missed it, here's a look at the first Developer Vlog for the game: |
